Yes yes and no no.

I'd love to see that set up.
I move at a deliberate pace when it comes to innovations, but I never stop moving. I have enough ahead finally for a long overdue lighting review, and this approach solves a lot of problems without causing too many new ones.

Other options include 6' florescent lights of various types, custom rigging a vertical fixture for DE HPS bulbs, or even LED strip lights. All those have their issues.

Yeah, thanks for the tip bro, I should have clarified the pics..... lol. While I have the heat under control now, this was not always the case. I charbroiled 3 plants getting it right. The smoke is still strong as fuck, but the taste suffered. I yanked the leaves because they were necrotic. Otherwise, I only pull leaves when they're ready to fall anyway.

Here's a shot from the current grow. The big gals are pre98 Bubba Kush variants grown from seed, supplied by eyecandi. It's time for a flush. They have been drinking a heavy Dyna gro solution for the last 5-6 weeks and I haven't touched them other than to squeeze the Charmin occasionally, but they are definitely ready for a flush... then time for some mo DG

Oh yeah, check the root porn shot. I have a better root mass coming up for the drip on the plant in the back but it's a pain in the ass to reach, still these are living roots soaking up nutes in the light of day :-)

How much is a 315 kit from them? Any chance you know how much that 375 bulb is?
Email them, someone was quoted over $500 for the 315w kit if I remember correctly, prices change though.......It's not cheap due to all the safety features on the ballast plus increased lumen per watt/ 95% lumen retention at 25,000hrs, that's a big boost and puts it in led/induction league IMO. AND very high efficiency, ballast consuming only 16w to power 315w bulb . IF you believe it:wink:

the cycloptics greenbeam is around 700 using the cerametek ballast, but that kit comes with their own pricey vert reflector

The 375w ceramatek kit , you definitely wanna go with the 840 bud p bulb(vert 45+- position only)

tell us what they quote you on them............and ask if 120v input is accepted to the ballast??? i'm not sure

good luck

Aren't you concerned that it's absolutely running below specs by a significant margin?
talking about a spectral shift here as with all mh bulbs when dimming.....your are not getting that beautiful spectral distribution that you paid for.

I would ask for a Phillips replacement ballast from the vendor or complete swap if still under warranty imo.

You say the meters are accurate then it's ballast not the bulb obviously...

Good luck
so the light has a switch in it,and it makes the light run at 210 watts..they did a few test on some of the lights they have and found one or two with the same thing going on....they say its a 15 min fix,so back to the shop i go.

thanks..................no 120v option then, bummer
I think I need to call back and make sure I heard him right. I was in kind of a rush when he called. If I'm not mistaken they list the 315v as 120-277 on their website... and 200-277v seems like an oddball number...

Twenty five bux for 20% more output? What's not to like? Is the spectrum the same? The big deal about the 315W Elite Agro was the spectrum, the PPf.

I'm diggin those. 10 year limited warranty on ballast and 5 year limited warranty on bulb.. Of course great spectrum too. 125 lumens per watt. More than other CMH. No mention of par or cri. I expect high cri. Par hard to guess.

Damn, anything out there equivalent in 120v, I'd want that 375w? Looking for a new, efficient flowering light, that can pull some nice bud, this thing looks awesome on paper. I was checking out the Philips 315w, not bad but hard to get here in Canada. Gets a little expensive with fees and taxes tossing the border, I'll need some form of reflector/hood as well.

That 375W spectrum and lumen output is GANGSTER, did anyone else read the specs on it?

Unless there's a good reason not to, I think I just found my next grow light. Price is right, spectrum is awesome, efficiency and lumen retention are killer... what if anything an I missing?
Only flaw for us not dedicated 240v grow rooms is the fact that they need 200-277v input to work(finally noticed it on the spec sheet)...........these bulb/ballast kits are the best on the market by far with their claimed specs.

Don't know who makes the 375w cmh bulb philips/osram/GE ??? absolutely have to go with the Bud P (protected) vert position.

Only pre-built philips 315w cmh fixture with a 120v option (has a step-up transformer in it, more $$ that the 240v) is the LEC 315.........EVERYTHING is included, just plug it in:)

http://growershouse.com/sun-system-lec-315-light-emitting-ceramic-mh-fixture-120v their almost everywhere now, maybe you can find one at a local grow shop???

My only concern is using a step-up trans, what are the efficiency losses/conversion when using one and safety......maybe our RIU electrician Chaz can chime in on these things.

http://www.amazon.com/Goldsource®-Voltage-Converter-Transformer-ST500/dp/B0022QOSDK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402267586&sr=8-1&keywords=step+up+transformer

would be nice to use this with the best CMH kits on the market.............they do scare me a little in a grow environment. IDK

Fuck I wish I owned my place and would just run a dedicated line.......

Had a look at the philips, not bad, but this 375w Ceramatek looks bad ass. Decisions, decisions... those decision moments usually end up costing me money, time, or both ;)

My business partner and I are starting up an MIP for primarily providing concentrates, but also tinctures and capsules, just no cookies or lollipops. I would love to build out the grow with the exact light I'm using, but the cost would be insane.

500 plants x 9 sqft/plant (we grow trees)/9 sqft of decent coverage = 500 lights x $500/fixture = 250K..... that's more than my entire budget at present..... I'm thinking HPS unless you all think I could do it with the CMHs for a reasonable cost. Any thoughts?

Thanks Hyroot. I'm a novice to CMH and the Elite Agros are my only experience. Is the spectrum on the 860w similar to the Elite Agro 315w. After all that's why I was wanting to use them....
