well this aint Walmart boys and girls....if you don't educate yourselves around here, you will fall far behind the curve quickly, often the vetted sponsors are a real source of technical info, because they have sold it, image the fucking concept.

Rainbow farts for everyone.

Rainbow farts even for the guy that's not finished a grow but saying he'll get more than 2.5 grams per watt with his platinum led?

I read this thread at work about how terrible Platinum LED's are. I was kinda bummed because I bought 2 of them. I went home 1/2 expecting my plants to be dead...but they are thriving. So I broke open a jar of OG Kush that I grew with those awful lights..but it was amazing.

What am I doing wrong?

I grew decent nugs with my mars/plat lights.... But I grew great big nice nugs with my cobs. Cobs are just more light watt for watt. Sometimes people get a little harsh when it comes to this. Facts are what they are, but if it works for you ok. But people deserve to know there is a much much much better option.

The lights produce light. So anything will grow. It's just people spouting the bullshit propaganda and expecting yeilds as they advertise is the issue. The shit led lights grow fine you just have to run them at higher wattage per sq ft than even hid- 50w per sqft and up of actual wattage. It's more the completely untrue advertising pisses people off.

Also plants in veg will always do great with blue leds. Veg phase doesn't require much light at all to do well. It's just the flowering part platinum led and other epiled shit lights suck at.

The companies is marketing lies and selling the cheap leds for a preimium price.

You are absolutely 100% correct. However there is a way to pass that information to others. And the handful of sorry ass arrogant holier than thou asswipes run folks off instead of just posting their facts and letting members decided.. They justify their behavior by claiming to be saviors from the big bad marketplace. There is no justification for ganging up on and being total degrading, disrespectful assholes to other members.....lol......They end up running new members off and some older members because they are such assholes that take great pleasure in bashing members and companies.

I just want to point out 1-1.5 GPW is a normal goal for HID. The only LED technology I am aware of that has broken that has been COB (@Growmau5 achieved 1.91 while driving at, like, 40% of 1400mA.)

COB is LED technology, but they were made to replace HPS in highbay/lowbay industrial and warehouse applications, whereas LED panels using a large amount of small diodes were not invented for this purpose.

I have had decent success with a pair of P300's in a 2' x 5' closet. I generally grow 2 or 3 plants and have had excellent results. But I am only on my 3rd grow so I'm still a newbie...I guess. I am thinking about using a fairly large attic to build a 4' x 8' x 7' grow room. Because of the success I had with the P300's I was just going to buy more of of those...but...I also assemble guitar amp kits and am a chronic builder/tinkerer. Up until yesterday I thought Platinum and Mars were it for LED's...it never occured to me that I could build or assemble something better (like I did with my hand wired amp that kills the commercial brands)...now I am intrigued. Not looking to hijack the thread or anything...but can you all recommend a good LED light(s) that I can assemble instead of spending $2 or $3k on more of what I currently have?

Thanks...

2x5? How about your Platinum plus 2 Tasty T1-V196 fixtures, one on each end? You'll probably be using just about 300-350w and you will be able to cover everything with great PPFD.

Timber's good, too, though.
