I cannot for the life of me figure out why i cant get past the bubble phase at full vac purge.IMAG0099.jpg
I keep the heat below 110F and cant get the past this phase after hours of running at full vac. I have one pittsburg 3 cfm 2 stage and a robinair 5 cfm stage and both cant fully purge. I am using a bestvalues degassing chamber five gallon. what could it be guys this is getting to be so frustrating:wall:

Bubble phase at full vac and 110°………what does this mean? Because thc is boiling under those conditions...do you really think neither of those will purge? Just turn the vac down a touch, turn your heat down 5-10° and it won't take longer than a couple hours

My understanding is that Colibri is lighter fuel ONLY . Vector & Fast-Fill both claim 5 X filtered . If you are not pulling 30 , you must have a leak is all I can think of .

Don't go over 29.5 or lower depending on altitude

Amount shouldn't be a significant factor and many of us purge for less than an hour.......

IMAG0100.jpgit seems wierd to play with valves to get an exact 29 when my gauge is probably not that good to begin with. To reiterate your saying you have to be at exactly 29 or less to purge anymore pull and its not purging? Am i understanding this correctly?IMAG0101.jpg

Your gauge might be fucked. A lot of them come fucked from on line sellers. If it says it's pulling over 30 I would guess it's fucked. Go to an auto supply parts store and ask for an Hg vacuum gauge. They are like $10. Make sure the fittings on in are the same as yours or you will need to adapt it to fit.

How do you know your oil is at 110F? What are you using to know that? Or are you going by what temp your griddle says?

Hey Op

Don't get discouraged brother.
The oil/ vac purge process takes some hands on practice...

Don't jump into it with your best 2 oz of material.

Start small with relatively cheap or free material (a trim from your or a friend's harvest)

The nuances of utilizing a vacuum pump and altering atmospheric pressure to degas resins is not for the feeble motivation.

When you are at that stage and bubbles won't pop, release the vac and let fresh air in...
The bubble will collapse...

Close valve again, and the bubble will again inflate...repeat until it stops..

Do NOT go all the way up to full vacuum doing this..
As QK pointed out....

You can easily chase away the fish you are trying to catch, by boiling away THC under a vac.
The bubble has a ” skin”...

After inflating and deflating...the skin will eventually vanish from the heat.
Get rid of the skin.

Do not over purge.
No higher than 115°
105-110° under vacuum.
