they didn't get as big as i thought, i attribute it to a late start (june 21st i planted them at about 18-20'' tall) and some unusually poor july weather.

the rainwreck and the god bud seem to be going into flower, shooting up tops and developing their first hairs. the wmd seems to be holding off for now.

it is too big to fit the lawnmower in there now, so i have to enlist the help of my buddie's power scythe. that thing is awesome, but a lot of work.

still holding off on how to stake these things up, want to stay very very cheap but still be effective. we'll see.

I am also in Portland. I see no sign's of budding until late August. Some prefllower before that. I did not read the whole thread yet. But were they from clones? If so they will show pistals before real flower starts. That being said I do not even know what strains you have. Just wanted to chime in before I go to work.

Check out my Portland backyard grow here.

i just saw yours, it is looking excellent!

they are from clones, and showing preflowers. it is my first time outside so hard to tell if they are just preflowers or are starting to actually flower. i would say the god bud is only preflowering but the rainwreck is packed with a few more pistols, so who knows.

thanks for following along!

the small little plant you see is in response to mcpurple's assertion that you can just stick a seed in the dirt and grow good lots of weed for for cheap or free. i imagine i will get 1/8th of an ounce of good bud off that little gal.

be positive maybe a 1/4, lol

you imagain you will get an eighth. do you have 2 accounts UB? and yes you can grow a decent plant for free or dam close to it, i have already stated that yes if you put some money into it then you can get more and better quality but it is not a necessity.

im waiting to see these girls now, i bet they have exploded with growth

the part in red was quoted from my original post, which i deleted because i put in a photo i shouldn't have and could not edit it out somehow.

here are the pics. notice the tiny plant that is in good sun and wet soil yet not growing.

Looking good man. I am also in Portland. I got one plant (dogshit) not even showing yet. All other plants are well on the way. How much stretch do you think you got left?

well, more stretch than i planned on. they are now bigger than i am. pics to follow tomorrow.

a couple of questions to anyone that may know:

first, i am getting a lot of leaves turning yellow and even whitish yellow, mostly on the interior of the plant but a few on the outside. i have been fertilizing with fox farm (grow, bloom, and tiger) since the beginning every other or every third time i water. i end up just pulling off the really spent leaves and leaving the somewhat yellow ones. is this just normal like indoors, where the plant uses resources from the fan leaves to feed the developing buds? or could this have to do with the fact that i have a somewhat minor aphid/mite/whitefly infestation going on?

second, if anyone in the portland area can tell me about budworms, i am all ears. i don't see many moths around here, very sparingly, but want to know if is hould start spraying anyway. i think i will be hitting these up with neem tomorrow, as the 3,000 ladybugs i put in there didn't do much at all.

thanks to everyone for following along. :)

Also in Portland. Never had a bud work problem in 4 years. I spray with BT about 6 times in veg. And a couple times in early flower.

thanks for the info, your grow is coming along excellently.

i checked for bud worms today, not a hint of them. i was on the lookout for moths all last night, did not see one.

i think i will neem tonight.

some pics from today:

I feed my outdoor plants with the same 3 products you are (along with a little Beasty Bloomz and soon Cha Ching) and yeah, as mine entered flower I got a lot of yellow leaves that fell off. The Larry OG was the last plant to go to flower and it's really got a bunch, totally normal. The ones that started earlier did the same thing, then stopped for a while, now some on the one closest to being finished are doing it slowly, all part of the process. They are getting some nitrogen etc so it's not deficiency

budworms. fucking bud worms.

just noticed them today and it broke my heart to chop several top colas that were a couple of weeks from being ready. about an ounce or two all said and done.

i now know how all of my mornings will be spent for the next month, in a game of 'find the worm'.

:cuss:

i feel like you came here just to be a dick to me and have nothing constructive to offer.

if your anti-semitism is such that you need to stalk me, do it somewhere else.

here is the damage so far. they may not have been ready, but they sure were sticy and smelly in the best way possible. pretty dense, too. i'm sure it will be usable.

you can notice three piles: the two piles to the left were salvageable (combed through every bud), the rest is waste.

question: do the bud worms continue to damage the plant even after it has been chopped? i got out what i could, but there are still larvae in there and i just want to know if they will persist in eating and shitting on the plant.

also, it seems from my research that it is too late to spray since i didn't do it preventatively. i still have 2 weeks to a month before harvesting the rest, should i spray anyway, or will that be of no use?

thanks for any help and happy growing.
