Power Plant and White Rhino soil grow

Join me new now on a journey through time and space! This is my first attempt using top grade strains. I've done some experiments with bagseeds. But I want to get some real stuff in, so I got some good seeds. Lets start with a little info on the set up.

Seeds:

  • Dutch Passion Power Plant (Feminized)

  • Nirvana White Rhino (Regular)

From the 15 available seeds, started with 2 and 3 seeds from each strain, respectively. There really are three seeds in the second pic of the rhino, just took a crappy picture.

Seedling Veg Area:

  • Container- 35 gallon Sterilite tub

  • Lighting- 4 x 23 watt cool white cfl bulbs (6400 total lumen)

  • Exhaust- 4 inch inline duct fan

  • Intake- passive 4 inch air intake with 3 inch circulation fan

The tub will be used to sprout seeds after germinated and housed under the 4 cfl bulbs for the first 10 days to 2 weeks on a 24/0 photo period. Then moved the full size cab set up.

Vegetative and Flowering Cabinet:

  • Cabinet- 71" tall x 48" wide x 21" deep

  • Lighting- 400w HPS (contained in glass sealed air cooled reflector)

  • Exhaust- 170 cfm inline centrifugal fan (contained in soundproof box)

  • Intake- Passive air intake, connected to air conditioner.

  • Odor 12" carbon coal filter.

After about two weeks will from germination will move seedlings into cabinet under 400w light on 18/6 photo period. Will keep that schedule for about 4 more weeks until flowering. Hopefully will be able to obtain at least 2 or 3 clones from each. Currently I am flowering some bagseed I was practicing with.

5 DAYS FROM GERMINATION!

Will post the further picks on their growth. There is a noticeable difference over the bagseeds, even at this early age.

before i forget here's a shot of the nutes i'm gonna use. i went with fox farms brand nutes, as well as bug spray. it's organic and works really well, even around the house. i couldn't get the fox farm ocean forest soil, which really sucks, but i might be able to get some soon.

Also does any one have any tips on topping or pruning to produce one main cola, i really wanted to hear some different ideas.

Temps currently at around 88F Pretty warm, or i would run another 2 cfl bulbs. They are still doing pretty good with 4 bulbs tough. I have been watering heavily once a day, using distilled water. Showing a ph of a little below 7. No nutes yet, I'm waiting until 2 weeks. I tried some experiments on some bag seed adding nutes at 2 weeks from sprout and got some really good results.

This is the bagseed green monster that i've been keeping on 12/12 from seed, and started on 1/2 strength grow big at 2 weeks. moved to full strength at 3 weeks and continued to week 5 then switched to a mix of big bloom, tiger bloom, and open sesame and within a few days the first female flowers started. shes now at the end of her first full week of flowering, and at total age of 41 days in the picture. So she has 7 more weeks of flowering, and i'm still going to use the beastie bloomz and cha ching. Never tried anything on 12/12 from seed so figured give it a shot. i topped her last night to see what happens with that, again another experiment. i guess i could start another journal all together on this bushy beast. but i've been focusing a lot on the good seeds.

Your plants are looking good man.

How do you like the solubles from fox farm? I use the liquids already & have been thinking about picking them up.

thanks mclovin, i have only started using fox farm. i've been using the open sesame on some bagseed i've been flowering. withing a few days of first adding she started flowering like crazy. but they are super concentrated so they should last a while.

DAY 12

Here's the latest pics from today, they are looking nice. the points of the power plant leaves are nice and sharp, noticeably different from the white rhino.

they're starting to look fuller today. i still haven't been able to find many good pics of the power plant in full bloom. i've seen a few but shots put no full plant shots. i'm really hoping they continue on kickin ass.

oh yeah cannabitch, they are going great! i was worried that the one power plant was lagging behind. but then today a little over 24 hours later she filled right out. and the rhinos are getting huge! not even at 2 weeks, i wanted to keep them for at least another 2-3 weeks in smaller planters to conserve space in my cabinet, but i'll have to see if they keep up at this rate.
