pro mix in Ontario

im looking to buy about 20 bags of pro mix and im looking to buy it somewhere other than the local hydro shop who charges an arm and a leg for it. Anyone from ontario know where to get it?

What's in promix?I've never seen it in my area.I've heard of it lots on this website.

I use progro #4 which contains spagnum peatmoss,vermiculite and perlite.Comes in large 3.8 cu ft. bales

If you are looking to buy it in bulk make sure you are looking at these compressed bales http://www.premierhort.com/eProMix/Horticulture/fHorticulture.htm

they are $26 at Rona, $28 at local hydro store. They are massive and it is compressed so theres alot more than you think, 3.8 cu ft (about 80 pounds DRY). I'm sure if you mention that you need 20 of them, they would give you a discount (esp at local hydro store).

Id recommend the HP (High Porosity) mix as it has a root stimulator that I find works wonders, and it has a perfect amount of coarse perlite with a wetting agent that makes it very hard to over/under water. Ive been using it for my outdoor crop and now my first indoor as well, with no complaints.

Although it contains enough macro & micro nutrients for 1 week, it is considered a soil less mix and they recommend you start a nutrient program within 1 week of planting. For seedlings it has enough to last 2-3 weeks easily Ive found, but for mature plants definitely start nutrients within 1 week.

Holy shit, that's expensive. Those progro bags I used were regularly 15$,but I bought about 80 bags with tiny damage from a peat moss plant for 5 $ per bag.

make your own, you just collect moss and dry it over a years time, then add some vermiculite , per lite , worm castings and a shit load of compost

Promix is $30 per bale at any hydro shop in Ontario, and there are not many towns in Ontario that arent within 20 mins of a hydro shop. And they will give you a discount on 20 bags, but you do realize that 20 bags is nearly a ton? about 1600 lbs? I would recommend using it as well.
