Quantum Boards Grow

Well it's upgrade time again, going to put together a QB96 Elite v2 light and retire my 3590's. My plan is 9 Elites driven at 1050 ma to cover a 5 x 5 vertical scrog screen. The 3590's were around 1.9 umoles/joule and the Elites should be 2.6 u/j. The spectrum of the Elites has what I believe to be very productive and I've been using something similar for a couple years. With this spectrum coming on a commercial board I will no longer have to DIY red bars to supplement the standard options. Between the spectrum and the boost in output I expect big things, boards are arriving Tuesday.

Looking good, Cap. FYI, over in @pulpoinspace QB96 thread, there are reports of the thermal pads leaking some sort of discharge after they've been heated up. Not sure if it's a ubiquitous issue, but thought you might like to know, and maybe have a chat with @Stephenj37826 or @robincnn - whatever the issue, we know HLG stands by the product and the customer!
Just talked to Steve and relayed the problem. He said it was a small batch of pads that were bad and the manufacturer did not inform it's customers. He said Robin would post about it later.

The ironic thing is that the bad pads were the most expensive high performance ones lol.

What happened to the octopots/ sips ?
They were nice but I got root aphids last year and it's impossible to get rid of them with octopots unless you use some very toxic shit, predators and natural fixes won't work with both soil and a res. I would clear the soil and get reinfected from the res. I'm back to 10 gal hard pots and organic, got it dialed in so my yields are just as good and sometimes better.

Should have dropped a couple of cigs in the res, would have taken care of your problem........oh, no toxic shit, nevermind

Sips aren't my thing either, I do use some for houseplants with synthetics

Thinking of running them at that wattage?

Edit: I mean long term, as opposed to just testing them out.

Should work great for the vertical setup at 1050 ma, nine would be 552 watts on a 5x5 screen. I get great results with nine qb288 v1's at 1050 ma with 50 watts of added reds. The elites put out much more light than the QB v1 setup.
