Quantum Boards Grow

Untrue, cobs are to be hung 12-18 inches from canopy, HID lights are to be hung 2-3 feet above. I think i am done trying to teach you guys, it's a lost cause you guys rather fight the truth than learn. Have a good night.
BWAHAHAHA!

He signs off in frustration that people with decades of experience and multiple degrees are unwilling to take his bro science seriously!

AWWWWWWWWW, did we hurt its wittle feelings?

Fucking grow up, quit acting like you know shit you don't, GET AN EDUCATION and by all means PLEASE quit contaminating perfectly good grow threads with your stupid bullshit!

You're done trying to teach US? Fuck off, you arrogant little twit!

I kind of want to unblock Yoda just to see what stupid shit he's currently saying. I just read through the whole modern era of ttystikk's grow journal and he knows his shit. I considered myself a semi-professional medical grower, consistently pulling 1.5ish g/w and reading through that shit has shown me I have a long way to go. No joke, coming on here has taken me down a notch. I thought I was pretty hot shit, now I'm feeling like I felt when I first got my first snake oil blurple and thought it was the shit until I read the datasheets on the CXA3070's and felt ripped off.

This brings me to my point: anyone arguing with ttystikk without presenting evidence of their own is absolutely full of shit. I thought I was pretty good, and after doing some serious research in the past couple days (a lot of it based on his work), it turns out I'm not as good as I thought and I would be standing on shaky ground were I to get into an argument with a grower of his caliber, and a lot of the growers here (yoda especially) aren't even as knowledgeable as me.

Don't bother he's just repeating himself

Thanks, brother. It's not good enough merely to learn for my own selfish ends, it's essential to me that I pass along my knowledge so that it can inform and sustain others.

Until you've have personal experience with them id appreciate you keeping your "opinion" to yourself because that's all it is. You have never seen these boards so you have no experience so stop acting like you do. You going in every thread that these are in talking crap is ridiculous and quit frankly someone might accidentally believe you. If you have a personal problem with me let's hash it out elsewhere.

18 oz harvest(500+ grams dried buds) from 400w of LEDs i know what i am talking about i been using LEDs for 4 years. I know your new to the forum but maybe you should look around before shit talking. These quantum boards are old tech, they are a PCB light without lenses. Don't expect much intensity from them without proper optics. Even with proper optics these lights are still old tech and won't have great intensity, they will need to be hung 12 inches or closer. I noticed you never posted a picture of a plant , do you grow buds? Bet you just here to talk shit .

You're a good man, Steve. You're a lot more polite than I would be.

Was wondering what you guys were all talking about until @ttystikk mentioned his handle, already had him on ignore from a recent idiotic run in with him - lol

Nice work/info gentlemen, interested to see what these can do, will check out some of the grows. I'm thinking if these boards come in various sizes/spectrums, these could be a really easy retrofit for those Mars panels. Just had one go recently and have it set aside for an eventual retrofit with COBs (veg), this could be easier and cheaper for veg...

Honestly, it's probably not worth the trouble to cram one of these boards into a Mars case. It would only impede its ability to shed heat, while providing nothing of value.

them small thin sinks in the mars2 would work great for these boards imo
I'm glad I saved my 3 900's at least I can use the sinks , I still use my 400's on seedlings
But that is changing very soon as well ,
thou the mars2 make for sum squat & tight node spacing in the 1st 2 weeks 4 me with seedlings
recent ig pix
it's that they draw too much for output

Especially if you can't run the optics on it .......which would need to see how it's done with the glass on the Mars.......
No glass on mine, they're the reflector series and have a heat sink similar to the one's shown in the pics. Just strip the reflector layer and mount the boards to the existing heat sink, use existing fans for active cooling if needed. Seems like a no brainer. here's the model I'm referring to, you remove the reflector/diodes part and you're left with a heat sink to mount these boards on. Nice neat space available for the drivers...

Perfect then bro sorry I forgot they made the non glass type shit have at it and let us know how it goes if someone could just swap a board in with optics and not need new drivers it would be a cheap and very effective upgrade

Definitely going to look at what's available and dismantle that box when I get a minute. I have some old 3070 & V29 COBs in 3/4/5k and drivers and was thinking of just using those. But this looks even easier if the dimensions of the boards fit within those fixtures. Pretty sure I'd need proper drivers for these, but the case/heat sink is the biggest cost for me up here, we have shitty suppliers and expensive for a lot of DIY parts, heat sinks cost a fortune to ship... Cheers

That's the thing about these boards- they really don't need a heat sink in the traditional style. Flat metal sheeting has been working fine at the most popular drive current levels. Check with the guys before making any assumptions about parts. They might save you some grief.

That reminds me of that line from Farcry 3 "Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity? It's when you do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result each time." or something to that effect. Yoda seems to have that going on, except he's just dumb, not insane.
Awesome game BTW....;)

Are you gonna be trying to run active cooling (like with your vert COB rigs) on these guys, or do you think the efficiency gains would be marginal in comparison due to their overall better heat spread.
