So I figured id start a thread for this season.. I mean why the hell not. So far i have 8 plants outdoors in the mountains of PA and theyre doing quite well. As of now I'm running 3 GHS Himalayan Gold and 5 Big Bang that i have left over from last year. As i speak there should be about 32 seeds in the Royal Mail waiting to be processed and sent to the grand old U.S. of A. courtesy of our pals Attitude Seed Bank. That being said my eight plants will very likely grow in number before July.
Im a man of few words haha, so here are what we all care about the pictures! (these were all taken May 29th and earlier. i have pics from this past sunday and will upload them once i can get on the lappy and use the proper software) p.s. just cell phone pics but better than nothing :eyesmoke:

I'm rerally interested inseeing how those Himalayan Gold come out, because last year, I got one of those (supposedly) from a fellow grower, and it waas very much like the Goo that goes around here and they are not supposed to be near the same genetic make-up. I had someone else tell me that it doesn't look like that so I'm wondeering now if that's really what it was. I'll be able to tell as soon as they go into flower sooooo I'll be watching this one! Good luck! and +rep

Thanks buddy. My only Himalayan from last year didnt make it to full maturity because of termites. Seriously.. fucking termites. But i got good advice from a grower on here and should have that problem taken care of before the stalks get too woody. Do you happen to have a picture handy of the HG that you could throw up on my thread quick?
Thanks for the interest. RDG

Thanks dude. Those arent even the newest pics so theyre bigger now. The ont which has its own hole grew more in one week than the four in the bed had in 2. I expected that. Didnt want to put more than 2 in that bed but ended up taking out four one day and realised we didnt have enough soil to fill all the holes so that is plan B. Should work out haha.
But anyway, to answer your question they get about 5-6 hours direct light cause theres a big hole i the canopy directly in the suns path, and the rest of the day it gets good but patchy sunlight through the trees. It always surprises me when I get up there how open the canopy is at my spot cause the rest of the mountain is pretty dense. Needles to say it took a long time to first find it but when I did I knew it was the one.
I wish I could just grow in an open field or something but this place has 100% security. If it gets found here then nowhere is safe.
Thanks for checking me out. Ill put up pictures from last Sunday tonight and Ill be going out again tomorrow to get some more pics, water and haul more dirt. Peace. RDG

is that the peat and manure mix that you were talking about?
looking good for sure
Yes it is. Nine 40lb bags of composted manure and mushroom compost rated at 5-5-5, 1 big bail of compressed peat moss, and a 2 cu. ft. bag of semi compressed perlite. It was super cheap and great for having so few ingredients. Ill be adding more shit next year now that i know this works really good.

These pics are from 2 sundays ago. Sorry Im not so active on my own thread. Busy busy busy!
1 plant topped itself naturally after the first node.
Found one had been toppled over by storms, it was still green and the leaves still stretching for the sun so did some emergency surgery on her, wrapping the stem with some strips pulled from a white trashbag. Hopefully it saved her. :-P

Can anyone comment on picture number 7 & 10. The leaves near the top of the plant are very twisted and I'm thinking it may be the pH of my home-made soil? Any help??
Beside that comments, praise and constructive criticisms are all very welcome. Peace. RDG

Not sure on the twisting.. I have only seen that in a reveg. But I am still a beginner so yeah... LOL

All your plants are looking good and nice job on the emergency bandage. :)

Hoping everyone had a great holiday weekend! Heres what my trip to the girls yielded today . The bandaged plant is holding is own weight and definitely recovering. Took the bandage off to toughen her up and to prevent any mold on the stem. Got the 'self-topped' plant into the ground today and shes looking good. My tallest plant is a little over 5 ft.
All in all everything this season is going a little better. Mainly the internode spacing, Much tighter than last year and i'm sure happy to see it. Enjoy. RDG

Looking real green over there! What do you know about super cropping?
Not much honestly. I usually just let my plants do their thing with only LST at most. One seedling topped itself this year which was a pleasant surprise.
So.. what do you know about supercropping? lol

So I seem to do this alot but after my month+ hiatus I have returned and must say this season is definitely turning out to be a pleasant one. Of the 8 plants started only one perished prematurely due to a storm that knocked her over (the one with the broken stalk i tried to mend). Theyve all started flowering maybe 1 to 2 weeks in. So here are some pictures my friends!

(some pics may be blury, need a better cam for sure)
