old school, frugal, or lazy.. i just still prefer smoking joints.
i do make bubble hash with my trim.. but i love sitting back comfortably with the taste of some fresh homegrown. not having to mess with any smoking tools/devices

Reminds me of the time me and a buddy were hot knifing roaches...we were using a propane torch to heat the knives..long story short...one of the knife tips breaks off and sticks right to my buddies lip..hes still got a nasty scar to this day..bahaha good times!

I normally press bud but if you want to press kief or hash you need to get teflon mesh bags to press in. This will keep the rosin clean of plant material. If pressing bud buy a cheap hash screw press and pre press your buds in it first before the squeeze. I found pucks of 2 to 3 grams work the best for bud.

Also keep the pucks and use them in magical butter machine with coconut oil to make cannacaps nothing goes to waste

Smoking joints is my usual method of consumption, and lots of them! I normally am smoking alone, so I get through 1/2 to 3/4 of it and put it out. I have this thing about lighting up partial joints, so I always roll a fresh one. The 'roaches' I break open and keep a bag of 'roach weed'. Last time I checked I had over a pound of it in the freezer!

Not much for concentrates, even taking daily coconut oil pills my tolerance level is low so concentrates f me up too much. Once in a while I'll press a dab or two (curling iron method), or throw some of my sift in a pipe. Used to blow a lot of BHO but once I got sick I stopped that shit, too many unknowns, even with proper purges. Favourite is smoking freshly cured bud in pipes but for health reasons I vape more often than not. Not a big fan of joints, for some reason all I can taste is the paper and lose all the flavour I get in pipes or vape.

Thought the hot knife options were good, gotta get a hot plate for nostalgia and run some hash through them, been a while...

I saw a drunken idiot in college take a red hot knife right in the eye.
It really sucked huge...ruined the party...for sure.

When my cousin and I were roommates in university. We were doing blades after the bar one night and I accidentally hit him in the lips needless to say the next day when my aunty took us for lunch she was not impressed with his new butter knife lip art lol

I have pressed kief. Works very well. Use a tea bag pouch of course. I pressed it at 210f. Sorry can't recall the micron size. Anyway I packed it full and it oozes out quite nice. The proper press setup is crucial imo. There is a PROPER setup and there are wrong setups. It makes a difference in quantity and ease of doing it.

Or a frozen fire hose nozzle. Before I pooched my lungs I used to do 1 grammers with the knives. I still like my imported hash best for a concentrate, just in joints now though. Problem for me is I always want lots of variety. I usually have 3-4 kinds of hash and 6 or more strains of flower, some kief made from the flower. Bubble hash makes me cough too much and shatter/resin or wax is so hard to work. Every joint starts out with "so what will I smoke now", LOL

No you could put together a really nice DIY setup from parts on this. But you gotta know what to buy or it's not gonna be the ideal setup.
The only thing about complete pre-made units is some are junk and others are pretty decent. I've seen some that were 3k and up and were not worth it in any way. For about 1200-1500 you can build the best unit.
20 tons is my recommendation.

Concentrates are easy to use once you get the mastery of them. Plus the right rig to use them. Otherwise i agree they are a pain in the ass if you only have a pipe or joints type of thing.
Love my puffco plus....smoking anywhere now is easy...hahahaha...suck on that fact trudy prancer boy.
They haven't even figured out how powerful concentrates can be. They are worried about weed being above 10% THC.....ll....how about 85% oil and wax or distillate. And the joke is they are easily used anywhere....just ask me....lol...fuck you piggy wiggy's...we out foxed you again.

My suggestion is a table top 20 ton..they make em. I'd don't have the floor space for a floor unit. I also like to sit down to make it

I make rosin a lot. I don't have a press, but I've been using the old ladies hair straightener and tea bags forever with awesome results. I only squish bubble hash, but I'm talking top quality full melt bubble hash that's blonde and looks like diamonds or white sand. I've seen a lot of the crap that people call bubble hash and it's garbage, 80% contaminant and no melt!

Rosin can be many different consistencies depending on quality of starting material, temp and time of press. You can have everything from absolute shatter, to caked out crumbly budder.

Lower temps (120°) will produce the budder and higher temps (180°) will give me shatter.

I've pressed flowers before but because I'm lacking a proper press it's just not economical.
