bugs are very depressing, when they come in now.........

i totally clean house. no games no half steppin. gnatrol in hydro clings to the roots making a slimy mess.

ya i pretty much got em under control so i dont think i am going to do the hydro route.. i just need to get my nematodes in and they should wipe out the rest of the population

your thread has inspired an octagon 3 1000W...gonna try and duplicate that set up from CC...but i want to find a cheaper route then buying a vertitube though

great to hear funk!

i think vertical growing is the way of the future.. i am still trying to figure out the best way to do it, but everyone that goes vertical never goes back! it truly is by far the most efficient method there is.

that being said, if you dont have a problem with temps having bare bulbs with a strong fan blowing from the bottom is a better way to go, i dont have cool tubes just fans, and some of my babies are less than a foot away with no problems.. the light lost from the extra glass is not worth it in my opinoin.. i would say invest in an ac instead, it will cost you less, and you will get more out of your plants without a cool tube.

i will be updating in a few days, i am going to clear out the scragglers and runts, trim up the bottoms of the ladies, move some plants around to maximize my space, and then ill take some pics and share the love! they really are exploding and i am going to have to get creative in my placement

i think the octagon from CC may be a good route to go if you want to change your design...up to 79 plants in 3 gallon containers under 3000W if what the guy was running on CC...got 6.25 lbs. from one yield...i think id only go 64 plants at a time and run it perpetual, harvesting 16 plants (one level of the octagon) every two weeks...

ya i have seen the verticals over there on CC, they partially inspired mine. i just hope i can get in their ballpark yield wise. and no this is only my second grow with a vertical setup, and my first one was plagued by pests and drought due to being out of town, so was really a disaster LOL but this gro-round should give me a good idea of what this system is capable of.. it is really filling in, once i get everything trimmed down and shuffled a bit, you will see the wall of green, i cant see the wood in some places LOL love it! and they still have some stretch time!

yeah...its lookin awesome so far...keep it up...i'll most likely pull design elements from both you and the CC threads to achieve my goal...

grow well

FLoJo - where do you live? and what is the 10 x 10 law?
in santa cruz county, ca we have a law that doesnt put restrictions on the number of plants we can grow...out garden is just limited to a 10'x10' space...

hence the "10'x10' law" (which is just what ive come to call it...its just our standard county MM guidelines)

bingo.. and while if laid out my canopy maaay be larger than 10x 10, it really only sits in a 6x9 space :weed:

but either way the grow is licenced to two people,so by that regards we are far under what we could be doing (20x20)... gotta love cali!

i think i am going to be getting my nematodes tomorrow, so i will painstakingly pull out all of the kiddos in soil, take the runts out, move around the babies, feed the soilers my nematode mix, and then throw em in hydro right before lights out....

they have really taken off! some of them are almost 3 feet tall reaching from the bottom rack to the top rack!! its pretty cool! i did have a little hiccup when i pumped up the nutes from 800 to 1000.. the trainwrecks are very sensative ladies and started to curl at the tips, so i pumped out about 5 gallons and replaced it with RO so they are happy now at about 850.. I may snap a couple of pics tonitght just so you can see how much it has filled out in there.. startin to see some flowers now and its getting pretty gnarly in there !

ayyyy...what store do you use?...i tend to go with California Hydroponics off Soquel, they got cheap prices and a lot of good input...Santa Cruz Hydroponics off of 41st has some jacked up prices and they always seem like theyre "too cool" to help out

meh...pretty unrelated to your thread but just thought id vent to another SC area farmer...

i used to go to california hydro but they never have the shit i need for some reason its really wierd LOL... in my experience the guys off 41st are pretty cool. they will help you find stuff but i do know what you mean they always give you funny looks when you cant find shit LOL.. i always go to the one off of mission street/1 , its much bigger, and the doods are way tighter they hook me up fat. they are kinda hidden back there but its a really great 2 story facility.. very well organized.

YAY! I got 2 million nematodes in the mail today im excited to get rid of these pesky gnat fuckers!

today is going to be a big day. I will be sorting out the grow room and getting her ready for the final stretch! here is a list of what i will be doing today.

Taking out the weaklings, the couple runts and the chokers... which will probably be about 5-8 . i dont really want to do this but i have to because it is getting crowded and I am still seeing a few spots of powdery mildew here and there every few days, so i want to thin out the room and make room for the big girls!

i will be clearing out the bottom rows so that I can lower the diesels off of their stoop, and give the ladies in soil room to adequately get light and air. This means that i will be moving the big ladies from the bottom to where the runts were.

i will also be moving around the plants to give them optimal amounts of light. :hump:

then i will go through and clear out the lower weak branches and trim them up so that they get adequate airflow at the bottoms and keep the powdery mildew at bay. sort of like lolipoping but i will leave a few of the stronger side branches and just trim up the lower leaves.

also of course i will mix up some calmag and about 500k or so nematodes to feed my soil babies. i will take the other 500k and run them in the hydro system for about an hour after the lights go out then sneak in and turn off the pumps.

so i have a busy day today, but you will get a lot of pics at the end so you can see how i end up spacing them all out and how much they have filled in! i will post some side by sides to see what we have come from to where we are now.. lets see today will be day 13 of flower so they still have some stretching to do although they have slowed down quite a bit.

stay tuned! today will be a good one!
