K well i ended up falling asleep last night so i only got to work on the kiddos about 5 hours.. however i did manage to get everything done just didnt have time to take too many pics before bedtime! I will get some pics today right before lights come on i promise!!

i did manage to snap a few pics of the soilers when i brought them out to feed em and give em a splash of nematode cocktail! they are monsters lemme tell ya! gotta move em around because a couple are getting light green branches from being so close to the light! they are about 38-43 inches tall from the base and looking quite lovely! i have kept a low dosage of nutes and have started to see some deficiencies due to the low dosage and not using any cal mag. and no its not nute burn because my tips are perfectly green! also had a little bit of canoe action because i had not given em flower nutes yet (phosphorus)..

so i got em out, fed em a full dose of flowering nutes to get em kicked off right, and trimmed up the bottom leaves for better circulation and all that goodness.. then i mixed up 2 gallons of water with my nematodes and gave em all a good little drench on the top so they dont get washed to the bottom.. anyways heres pics of the wrecks and the diesels, i will get pics of the full room in about 6 hours. ENJOY!! :weed:

ya i know, they really shot up quick.. gorgeous lookin tho... right now i have them staked down but when the colas start forming and get heavy i am going to have to figure out where to tie em up.. should be interesting to say the least LOL

p.s. not bad for not doing a soil grow in probably 4 years LOL

well im pissed...

i woke up this morning two hours after my babies were supposed to go to sleep and for some reason the muufukkin lights were still on!!! so i go in there and look at the timer, it should be off, and i didnt flip the switch to make it run manually...

anyways im guessing it either got stuck or overheated and fried out.. either way that sux so i will have to watch it carefully tonight and tomorrow and possibly go buy a new darn timer!

nice set up I have wondered the possibility of this style, I'm going to watch this with great enthusiasm.

peace and good luck!

thanks Token.. i have always wondered what kind of results are capable in a good vert setup as well.. this is by far a good vert setup, considering i still have some light leaks especially on the front side but it is a step in the right direction.

my next build will be an aeroponic or NFT PVC vertical..

That will be cool to see as well. what benefits have you seen so far with vertical, do you get a better yield then sog type grow?

well the thing about vertical is that you do not lose any light so is much for efficient. with a reflector half of the usable light is sent upwards to bounce around and get reflected back down on the plants.. its debatable how much you actually lose.. some say half but i would say 20 to 30 percent at least. also with a reflector you lose more light by beaming it through the glass panel.

so with a vertical setup you dont lose any light to the reflector or the glass panel. this translates to more efficiency because more usable light is transferred to the plant. you can also squeeze more plants in a smaller area. for instance my footprint is only 5x9 total, which would be taken up by just the 15-20 ladies i have in soil...

also since hot air rises, there is very little heat, you just need a fan blowing up on the light and you dont really have any issues.. i was definietly surprised.

in the end it just translates to a higher gpw.. for instance the best yield i have ever had in a flat garden without co2 enrichment was just about 1gpw.. a little over 2 lbs per 1k light.

other vertical systems i have seen online and in person easily do 2lbs per light. some can do about 3 lb per light and one i have seen recently gets over 4lbs per light.. he has a serious wall of green with well over 200 plants for each 1k he uses.

this system is a spinoff of a system a guy named heath robinson did on another site which achieved 1.5 gpw. i am planning on getting 1.1-1.4 gpw on this grow. these are numbers i have never seen on any flat garden! that is what sparked my interest. once i get it dialed in i would like to build a sealed in system with serious co2 enrichment and hit 2 grams per wat.. now that would be something!

You really think you can hit 2 gpw with this kind of set up? because if you do, I know exactly what I'm doing instead of a 16 pot drip system. The best i have ever seen on a flat garden is 1gpw and that was a very nice sog but no Co2, with Co2 I think the guy would have hit around 1.2 at best.

well the absolute best vert system i have seen which is a serious wall of green like i was talking pulls about 1.75 doing about 650 plants with 3k in a modified NFT system. he will be adding co2 burners to his setup next month and plans on hitting 2gpw.. so we will see how that goes.. if he does achieve it i will be copy his system and put some plans up for everyone
