Hate to see your having some issues, take it as a learning experience and keep kicking ass. You'll do fine, just takes a little practice. That's crazy there are no guns in Australia, they're trying to do the same here, but i don't think it'll ever happen. Hope not at least, keep us posted on your progress. Thanks for helping out the community tek, you are an invaluable asset.
It's alot safer without every man and his dog running around without a gun but you do hear every now and then something happened with a gun is aus somewhere but it's no way close to how you have it in the u.s so there is a more relaxed way of life here. You can get your gun licence but only if you have no jail time served or are not known to be a trouble maker and associate with known "bad people" and a few other small details. My mate got his recently stating he is joining a shooting range gun club so needs one, they done checks on him etc etc and a few months later he had it so its not that hard...

Thanks whitnasty this experience has totally opened my eyes up to the total different world of autos and how crucial timing is as compared to photos trains..Big thumbs up to Yourself and Tek as youse have been alot of help along the way and I can def say tek knows his shit and words are almost gold if you listen and understand..
I have just planted my remaining 2 nl seeds so in a few days it all starts again but better then last time I'm hoping. My other nl is still going under the cfls and a week after the new seeds sprout everything's going back under the mh so will post back up in a week or so how they are all doing. Thanks for all your help fellas have a great weekend.

a gun is like a condom
it fucking sucks when you need one and dont have it
if been in multiple situations that required barking a round off in someones direction to get the point across

the GOV's mean well with gun bans
but criminals break laws thats what makes them criminals
that ban/law
is to keep law abiding citizens from owning guns and thats about it

Yeh I get what your saying its just if the smart educated people like you and I have access to guns then so do the scum who fu#* society up and terrorise everyday people like ourselves so unfortunately everybody still looses and its a viscous continuous cycle but less guns and given to the right people sound like a plan that should be thought about?. I was brought up to deal with things with my fists not a gun or knife but its not the 80s anymore and shits getting bad and its easier to let off a round or 2 instead of possibly getting a ass kicking. End of day tho Would I get a gun yes i would for personal safety not a macho status as there is a few bad hoods around my place at night time is a bit dodgy but I have friends that would simply carry one just to look cool like something you see in a movie. The government are more corrupt then anybody can imagine so fu*# em they only want to look like they care by banning guns so they can leave you venerable and strip you of your free will and choice to bare arms, its all about control and whilst the public have guns they are harder to manipulate and control compared to the people who don't..

Back to growing I went and checked out some ufo LEDs yesterday and I'm still learning on em but they are looking amazing for veg compared to hps,mh ,fluros and even cfls. Is a band 1 colour?,say if I had blue, red, orange, white with IR and UV that would make a 6 band led would it?. I've seen a 300w with red, blue, white LEDs is that ok or 6+ bands is better?. Cheers mate

yes a band a color
but if there is more than one color blue or a different spectrum white then its a 7 band
i have a 4 band and a 7 band
now that i think about it the 4 band is really a 5 band or more has 2 reds 2 blues atleast 1 spectrum white

yes and no
one is general growth/lighting and one is a dedicated bloom/veg panel
mixed spectrum is more ideal but IMO you would need more leds since the watts/diodes are spread out over such a wide spectrum range you're just getting a small amount of each

Hey Brotes - interesting bit of story dude & good to hear u making an effort to supply yourself in a shit marketplace! If u don't mind me adding a few cents worth, my best advice after reading ur posts/seeing pics is;

- Deffo keep temps down in day & make sure they don't drop down much at night either. (plus make sure NO light leakage in at night too!)

- Don't feed so much so early - any half-decent soil mix will be enuff for at least 3 weeks of initial growth & when u do start, don't give full dose like bottle says, do half-measure first & increase dosage gradually. To be honest, ur last pics did seem to show a plant stunted by over-hot feeding.

- I think u said ur only watering when soil dry on top 2inchs, which is good, so don't be tempted to overwater as they won't take it if they don't want it, plus dried out soil encourages root growth & expansion so is discipline is good.

- Finally, try not to get into the habit of thinking that a "boost" of anything is what she needs to combat stress or slow growth, etc. Obviously in certain cases of nute deficiencies, then yes a boost of that nute will help, but in terms of any other adjustable variable outside nutes such as environment, climate, schedules, etc, etc, then generally plants would prefer u to make sure things stay as regular & constant as possible. They don't like stuff around them being mixed up too much & don't generally enjoy trying to be boosted thru their lives.

And this is one point to temper, as i think alot of new growers are unfairly misled by manufacturers & what they read online; certainly it is possible to boost plants in a mental fashion & browsing youtube will show u plenty of monster plants that are riding the high line of fully boosted/nearly fucking popping dead they're growing so quick (!!), but u gotta realise that these are generally commercial grow labs in Holland or very, very experienced breeders with an enviable amount of time & money. But yet u read the front of any box of equipment or any manufacturers/grow-shop website, and they'll all happily promise that anyone can grow monsters! lol! For ur first few grows i'd say grow it slow-ish & easy, don't spank money on pricey equipment yet, see what happens with what u got and make sure to remember any important key points or obeservations for next time.

Best of luck anyway dude & sorry for the ramble & for if i sound too patronising!

You can grow just about anything under t-5's and until you can afford your ideal set-up they will tow the line for you sorta speak. T-5's grow excellent cannabis they just take a bit longer imho.

All good mate thanks for your words plus all input is worth hearing as I'm still new to indoor growing and positive real tips go along way.. I'm pretty sure with my first nl auto the soil I started in was way to hot for her and burnt main tap root so that's where the dramas started and couldn't be reversed.I Have a totally new growing media now I'm confident in and will not be tempted to do the small percentages which add up in the long run to a fail. Hopefully I can post some decent healthier looking autos up in a month or so :)

Lol! Plus the actual reason i got reading this & meant to actually type as response was, i'm doing RQS NL fem seeds at moment & so was intrigued to see what the auto version looked like! Totally forgot to say once i got into essay mode! Doh!

Sounds like u should be ok tho if u take it easy & u deffo seem to have good basis for a grow room in place already & to be fair i'm guessing ur Oz climate is abit more work to manage than my English one, so fair play to u dude. I'll have to check back to see how it goes & hopefully u'll come out the other end laughing!

As i say, i'm doing fem ones now & previous RQS NL i done has been an awesomely gorgeous smoke - its beautiful gear! (and without sounding like i'm rubbing it in, but they normally pretty sturdy little fuckers too - mine took a load of abuse & stayed standing proud thankfully - in fact i'd happily recommend RQS for good, solid, healthy, sturdy seeds as all theirs i ever done been good growers)
