I think any strain would be fine for ScrOG. I topping them is going to make vegging longer using ScrOG than if you had just used the screen, though. It's amazing how quickly the secondary nodes grow using ScrOG. now you'll have multiple primary growths to have to do deal with.

I'm not entirely sure though, I've never topped a plant when using ScrOG.

I have.....NEVER DO IT!!! Its the biggest mistake!! I am suffering from it now. It stops ALL VERTICAL growth. I am in week 5 and my tallest is only 8 inches.. my other cab is at 9 weeks with 15 inches at tallest. Nothing different either. I would just pull it back and retie it even with the rest of the canapyif you have a shoot growing up faster than others!

Sorry for reviving an old thread, trying to inform. It doesn't stop vertical growth unless you do it wrong and with an unsterilized blade. From a seed plant, it takes maybe 2 weeks for it to recover and start reaching up again. From a clone thats matured and has already alternating nodes, its alot faster since its genetics are more matured, a week around.

With a scrog you SHOULD definitely fim or top, if you don't and just lead it around the primary cola no matter how much the seconary nodes catch up, in flowering the primary cola is much more dominant than all other sprouting areas. Hope I could help for anyone still looking around for more information.
