Slow maturation of Buds under LED

One issue is that I didnt record my flowering dates which I have since started (again this was not a issue under hps so why would i start doing it). I would estimate that they are at 10 weeks at 40% brown pistils...they just wont finish.
When I was growing under hps and they got to that point it would be week 9 and maybe give it another few day.

90 CRI? I'm going to have to figure out what that means honestly.
CRI is color rendering index. When it comes to phosphor based LEDs 90 CRI will indicate the red peak shifting from 600 to 630. I don't know for sure but suspect the reason plants finish faster under them is because they switch into the flowering stage faster.

But like I said, when I was growing I was doing 8 week strains in 8 weeks. Not sure what to tell you.

I like running around 75 F/25c.....80c as a minimum is a bit of nonsense....maybe something will like that, but IR is over rated and lack of of it is freeing....

I like to think 20% genetics / 80% everything else including grow error.

if you want to signal them to ripen, mimic nature at the end of the growing season... lower temps, lower rh, shorten day period, water with cooler water... not only do these things signal the plant to finish up, they also bring out flavor, smell, and autumn colors (yellow, orange, red, purple)..
Do you think it matters whether the plant is indica or sativa? And would genetics come in to play? I wondering about strains that have a history of being grown near the equator and if/how flowering would differ being exposed to colder temps than it's used to. Just asking your opinion on this? Thanks!

I agree that 80+ is too high. I like to keep the garden mid 70s. Terpenes are highly volatile and anything higher than 78 or so seems to negatively impact terps in my experience... *Lowering* temps if anything will speed up ripening because it simulates winter... I usually lower my temps and rh a bit toward the end of flower
Well my leaf temps are 68 last reading , turned the fan down and ordered a fan to push some of the light heat down to the canopy.

Explain DLI, I understand why you guys abreviate, but I am a forum newbie. Haven't had to ask for much help ...
DLI is Daily Light Integral. Here's the definition from Wiki: Daily light integral (DLI) describes the number of photosynthetically active photons (individual particles of light in the 400-700 nm range) that are delivered to a specific area over a 24-hour period.

in my experience i can run strains like sour and glue which can make "donkey dicks" at higher temps under led and still get decent compact buds with less "running"
both are very tropically sativa....not surprising....thats why there are baselines and not exacts.

1 DLI is 278 PPFD for one hour. 550 PPFD for 12 hours would give you about 24 DLI. 15-45 DLI seems to be the sweet spot.

Yeah but I can see it being the tops with full white pistils that look to be a few days old and below that a lot of red.

It wasn't till the hours were dropped to 6 did the tops start up finishing. That's with a range of 1500-1850 at the canopy and 600-1000 for the lower part of the plant.

im just saying in regard to temperature effects. that was the main reason i switched to (not so great) LED years ago - quality was superior imo, better density, better look overall
Thanks for the tip on temps...raised them to 75-78 from ....67 lol.
Everything is moving along now!
