Small Adventures with The Sloth

Heyhey Mr. Sloth! I imagine you're probably all harvested by now -- how'd it go?
Or should I be interpreting your not updating as: the harvest was great and the celebrations are ongoing?! (as I imagine happened in any case haha)
Cheers! :bigjoint:

Ha..thanks for checking in caliandra! Life is busy and there just doesnt seem to be enough time to do all the things needed to be done, the grow is just about complete, we (my wife and I) began harvesting a couple weeks ago. I work long days as does my wife so we get a couple branches trimmed on each of our days off. We're close-ish with all the tops and about halfway through the side branches and still have all the lower branches and larf which is going to be used for some bubble hash.
I'll attach a couple pics of our trimming progress. The pineapple express grew some big fatty buds, lemony, skunky, funky, dank smellin buds.
Im not exactly sure what we're growing next but for sure I would like to grow something with a higher calyx to leaf ratio. We grew PE several years ago, indoors under lights, and I remember our t being middle of the road as far as calyx/leaf ratio. Maybe pheno or greenhouse but this grow they were just a tad leafier than I prefer, just for trimming purposes alone, its taking a bit longer.
The 4 PE packed the greenhouse to the gills, and they are a great producer.
As far as weight goes...its a big harvest for us, much more than we ever got from my indoor set-up similarly sized.
As for smoke, we tried some last night, smooth, crisp, stoney...not tops but upper mids with a head high early on melding into a relaxing body stone without being locked. I think this will be a great afterwork smoke.

oh. my. goodness. , erm, YOUR goodness haha
Amazing colas there!! No wonder your harvesting process sounds like a major Amazon tree chopping expedition lol
Thank you so much for sharing that too :-)
And YES I can imagine calyx/leaf ratio becoming highly relevant with such amounts - unless you opt for shaggy buds lol
Anyway, congrats!!! What a great run, and a lovely greenhouse that does its job VERY well indeed!
Cheers! :blsmoke:

Thanks guys, it was my first run in the greenhouse, all my grows in the past were indoor, similarly sized in my self-made room. I learned a few lessons on this initial greenhouse run in comparison to an indoor controlled environment, nothing major just little nuances which were fairly simple to adjust to, like: considering the heat in the summer here, in a small greenhouse, the PE handled it quite well but that being said, more airflow and air circulation was needed, plants grew way larger than anticipated, required more water more often, which like stated, little things, mostly obvious.
Looking forward to next grow!
