Small shed grow room plans. Need input!

Ok so I drew up some plans (lol horrible art skills) n I'm thinking about building a small 5feet long by 4 feet wide n 6 1/2 feet tall. I'll be putting it off in the wood line on our property somewhat in the woods. I'd only be runnin it in late fall till early spring when the outdoor season starts up. Run a heavey extension cord n bury it till it's too my shed for power. Using 2 dig layers of insulation in the walls floor n roof n sealing all joints as I build. Tell me what u guys think. Any input would be awsome. I'm thinking a 1000 watt hid in a air cooled hood would heat it up without a heater. (I live in Pennsylvania. Or possibly even a 600 watt open hood but idk if it will fill a 4x3 space (that's taking out the 2x2 square for seedlings n clones)
Here's a basic (crappy) floor plan.
Got stoned n started drawing lmaoimage.jpg

some of the best ideas come up when we are stoned,, I would run romex, they even sale some that is legit for inground use I am pretty sure, probably cheaper than the extension cord too,, then you can hard wire your sockets inside, those are like 1 buck at home depot

Haha yes they do!. N that's a good idea man. I'll only need like 2 or 2 wall plugs inside. N I'm gunna go with a little bit bigger space now cause my buddy just rounded me up 1k hps/mh in a air cooled hood n a 6inch inline n carbon filter. Plus 2 booster fans. Good to have friends that are bad at buying and hording grow equipment lol

very nice, your rounding up some good parts,,, and the romex is really going to help out with that big 1K hps, sweet man,, keep us posted

Will do! I'm excited....especially since all the basic equipment is ready too go just need too get the shed built. How does that wire work? Am I gunna have too hook it too a junction box or something? I'm doing some research now. It will be fine under the dirt even with a lot of moisture?

if your going to tag onto a nearby circuit, just do the hook up in that box, like where you were going to plug in the extension cord before, just make sure that circuit has a big enough breaker to handle the load your putting on it, its not like we are going for code,, lol

Exactly lol. That makes things simple. Just gotta make sure it can handle it. (Outdoors wall plug.) as long as I can bury it n not have any moisture problems. I'm tryin too keep it somewhat hiden cause of family visiting n mail/ gas workers coming up the driveway every once in a while. I live in the middle of no where, I can basicly walk out my front door n shoot a gun in any direction without fear of hitting anything. So nosey neighbors aren't a problem lol.

if you're going to build it, build it right. that's my advice.

i took an old out building on my property and began to work on it and i had to chase several issues once i actually started growing in it because the place wasn't designed to have heat and humidity in it. so build this place with proper insulation, vapor barrier, wall thickness, roof ventilation, etc. and , while you're at it, leave some room for upgrades. we all love upgrades :bigjoint:

good luck!

If I go with the direct hook up will I be able too run light, 1 inline, 2 boosters n a small occulting fan off that 1 wire n split it off into 2 different outlets without blowing fuses one after another?

Lol trust me I'm OCD when it comes too this stuff. If I'm gunna put hard earned money n time into it I'm def gunna do it right...knowin me prob over do it but oh well better safe than sorry! Lol
Edit: plus I'm building from scratch so I can make sure everything is sealed tight n made for heat n humidity.

If you have an electrician friend (or even if you don't), get a new 20-30 amp breaker put in your box and run that to the new building.
If you're running HID nothing is sexier than a dedicated circuit.

I have to run extension cords to spread the load.

well i do believe it will work better than the buried extension cord,, lol,,
yes you can get romex in some pretty good size, so it will be up to the breaker

Awsome! Thanks for all the input. You guys have me a good bit too sleep on lol. My hard part will be the electrical work. (Searching brain for someone trust worthy that knows what they are doing)......shitty part is you can't trust anyone these days sadly....

Might think about 2x 600w lights. Better coverage and the 600w is a bit more efficient.
Well right now I'm trying too cut costs where I can cause it's not gunna be cheap too build (the right way). My partner in crime has a few setups that aren't being used right now so I said throw me something together so he just grabbed the better stuff he had for me. (Free 1khps/mh, inline/filter n boosters for the air cooled hood, can't complain) but as it starts too pay for itself I'll be upgrading too 2 600s for sure too spread the light out

Ahh ic. Cool. I didn't realize it was free stuff.
The 600's are just more lumens per watt is all, more bang for your buck. But if it's free run it lol. ;)

Yeah I love the 600s n woulda went that route if I had too buy them but I got lucky n he had something too fill the space for now n like you said it's free run that shit! Lol
