big difference between the "creeper" picture and yours.

yours are long and skinny for some reason, substrate or environment. the creepers pictured are just some fucking big mushrooms grown on horse manure.

but, if i was growing the creepers now they might look like that.

i have the CAMBODIAN ones growing now.

check out the cambodian pics and you will see mine look similar.

creepers are about an hour away from getting inoculated.....

nashbar those are the most insane shrooms ive ever laid eyes on. i think id be scared to eat those.
just an fyi.

i have been posting my pics of cambodians.

and yes those creepers are scary, so i just finished inoculating jars with those spores.

not sure the creepers i ordered are the same ones as i got mine from spores101. i just look at the pictures at hawkeyes all slack jawed, drooling and stoned....uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

so heres what i am doing. the cambodians are just about ready to pick i would say and start a second flush. gonna try two things.

first from my understanding of second casing, the point is to re-hydrate the cake. so, i plan on taking one cake out of the bowl and placing it directly on to the wet/damp perlite. not soaked, just saturated, no standing water.

the others ill follow the recipe and re case with some wet verm and flip.

my reason for doing this is if i can remove the bowls i can maximize space.
gonna try anyhow.

ok next my jars were cool and i did five jars with creeper and five jars with B+. placed them in small container and put in complete darkness at 75+ish.

i did shake the syringe and was careful enuff not to touch it. i did were rubber gloves and sterilized the needle prior to storage as i only used 1/2 of each syringe. all went smooth and i am hoping for much more normal results in regards to speed and fruiting this second time around.

i will post more on these ten next sunday as i wont be checking on them for at least that long.:peace:

i don't buy into mushroom strains or marijuana strains. i used to give them some validity, before i had grown anything, now that i've grown both and seen other people's grows, i'm even more certain that naming a strain and giving specific traits to a strain is bullshit.

i've seen several "Ice" plants from different growers that look and perform nothing alike. i've seen "ice" plants from the same mother, grown in different conditions that look and perform nothing alike. i've seen plants grown from seeds from online vendors multiple different strains (NY Diesel, NL, Kush something and some fruity name), that are totally indiscernible. i went to amsterdam, smoked as many different strains as possible, somthing like 15 strains, they all looked and smoked the same.

in my opinion "strains" are just marketting/advertising by online vendors to sell more product at a higher profit margin.

i innoculated last night also. my own "strain" again. 14quart jars of grain. i gotta find some horse manure. i want 3-5lb from this grow.

well i certainly dont advocate any strain over another as i am way to new at this. and you are probably right about it being more marketing hype than anything else. you can sell ketchup to woman in white if you know what to say.

hopefully at somepoint i MAY become as proficient and knowledgable as you, but not sure i want to take it that far. props to you and thanks for the advice so far.

i guess the bottom line out of all of it is does it make ya feel good and fuck ya up? if it does then it worked, why look for more. that is certainly all i am really askin for is a good fuckin up.

ooo, i am starting to harvest and dry. i am using a screen over a container of kitty litter. does that sound ok? and i am keeping them for drying in basement at low 70 degrees. should they be placed warmer?

:peace:

i dry mine in front of a fan, in a brown paper bag with holes cut in it. 70F is fine, basement is kinda damp for drying something??

i moved them out of the basement. will put near air flow to help.

how long do yours take to dry complete? just looking to get an idea.

depends, 2-3 days in the winter when it's like 20%RH indoors, 4-5 days in the summer when it's like 50%RH. i leave the in front of a fan until they are all rigid (not flexible), then put them into a sealed jar with desiccant for a few days. then they're crispy. then i weighed them and bag them and store them in plastic bags in a desk drawer at normal indoor conditions until time of use.

the freezer is bad, the basement is bad, the garage is bad, the refrigerator is great for fresh mushrooms...
