So, here's the plan

In a week my and my friend will have a rented a place with a room, at least 20m² big.

We plan on dividing this room into 2 rooms, one for veg, the other for flowering.

In the veg room, we will have 16 plants under four 600w HPS lamps for 1 month.

Once they are done they will go into the flowering room, which will be slightly larger to accommodate this first group of plants, as well as the next group - meaning a total of 32 plants at any given time.

The flowering room will hence have eight 600w lamps.

We plan on dividing the filtration and ventilation system between these two rooms, so as to have an inline fan sucking the air from BOTH rooms, with a carbon filter to remove the smell.

We will try and find a way to have fresh cold winter air coming into both rooms, to replace the air (which should also be rich in CO2).

What do you guys think?

Let's see, sounds pretty sick I'd say that's way way too much light for that size of flower. What you should do is invest in air cooled hoods with a wide spread. I use a 1000watt lumatek bulb in mine and I can let my plants get literally a foot away from the bulb. If you use hps in conjunction with MH, for example four lights in line with eachother MH,HPS,MH,HPS. That's if you even need that much light. I think you could probably pull it off just fine with two 1000 watts and lots of reflective material. As long as your starting from scratch get the good shit. it'll pay off in no time I'm sure. Air cooled hoods will prove to be so so so much cooler than regular hoods, and make controlling the heat way easier. closer light = fatter buds.

So you're saying I should get two 1000 watters for 32 plants in the flowering room? Are you sure that's such a good idea....?

I'm thinking that eight 600watters will be more spread out, giving each plant 150w of light, to be exact. With good cooling in the room I'm sure we could get the lights pretty close as well.

ok 8 600w lights is WAY more light then two 1000w lights..... you need like 4 1000w's atleast to equal 8 600ww lights......but i like 1000w lights more i use both and IMO the 1000w Kicks ass and since you are talking about 8 FREAKIN LIGHTS that pretty much falls into the " kick ass" catorgory why not go big if your going to go big ....Know what im saying?.......... secondly an operation that big shouldnt be taken on by someone who as question like that in the first place

lol my bad. we all smoke weed here. No I think two sets of two one thosand watts with wide spreads put in line with one another to get the vigorous growth from the hps and the healthy blue spectrum of the MH. crazy fat nugs and less power and heat than all those six hundreds. just an idea though. Seems like the mix of the two would give you ideal light for the plants. You can cover a lot of area with a 1000watt. I've got eight plants flowering like crazy under one, four of which are monsters, the other four standing at about three feet. you could do 32 good sized plants under four of them.

Ha well.. I'm not a "noob" or anything, I'm just trying to get feedback, that's why I'm here in the first place.. We don't have that much money you see. Buying eight 600 watters would cost just as much as buying four 1k lamps, but what's the point if we can't put the 1k lamps close enough cus we can't cool them?...

Of course I'm sure a 1k lamp wouldn't be a mistake or anything, but everyone keeps telling me to go for the 600w lamps cus you can spread them out, easier to cool, you can put them closer bla bla bla...

A lot of us use the 600 b/c they don't get as hot as the 1k 6 hundo is the way to go...id hate to see that light bill though ouch nigga..my ol ladys up my ass about the bill on 2 600 an some t5z hope u eant got a wife..good luck grow on

Yes most poeple will tell you the 600w is better casue you can get it closer........like you say bla bla bla use what you like i like 1000wats if you like 600s then use those its all about what you like and how good you are using what you have.......
