Snapped a couple quick pics. Nothing much to see right now, but they're starting to show differing node spacing and some are stretching up above the others.

I've had to spread the plants out a bit as they were growing into and blocking each other. Like I mentioned earlier, the 2x2 isn't going to cut it for much longer.

The peppers plants are coming along. Lost a couple, but I should have 2 jalapeno, 1 Hatch and possibly 2 Poblano...or 2 Hatch, 1 Poblano...I forgot to label what was what.

Anyway, I'll let them get some more dangling roots in the party cups and they'll be into a Kratky tote and outside by next week.

Quick update. I've switched my nutes over from Mega Crop to Dyna Gro. I'll be following the feed schedule from here on, adjusting as necessary.

I love Mega Crop, it has been very easy to work with and I've been pleased with the results, but I've also been wanting to try Dyna Gro for a while now and was fortunate enough to receive a starter kit.

The girls got their first feeding today. So we'll see how it goes. Based on what I've seen from respectable growers on this forum, I should do just fine with Dyna.

I posted this in the gardening forum, figured I'd throw it here too.

My niece and nephew helped me throw together a quick drip system for the cucumber and melon plants. Doing this as a test case for the full garden, and found my pumps to be quite underpowered for the application.

I'm done with hand watering, especially when it needs to be done sometimes twice daily to keep the coco from drying out. I'll have this timer set to water 3-4 times daily and just sit back a let the plants grow, keeping the reservoir filled will be my main duty. Smarter, not harder. :blsmoke:

Those smaller pumps are good, but you can't have much head. They say they are good for 3ft or whatever, but I've found about a foot of head max if you want to keep any pressure. Also, if you use smaller holes on a long run, you can lengthen your on time at the pump to compensate for the lower volume.

I don't know why I went with such a small pump, the price difference between the 170 gph I bought and a larger one was a couple dollars. I've just ordered the right pumps and will chalk it up to a lesson learned. I don't think there's any voodoo I could pull to make this pump work for my needs in the garden...that said, I think it'd work fine to automate my indoor watering when I get the 2x4 set up.

oh wow. yeah, I thought you were talking about like a 400
Yeah...I was like 170, that sounds pretty good...I wasn't thinking about pressure and maintaining a certain volume of water...you know, the only things you'd think about when sizing a pump. :wall:

Not to worry though, I've got 800 gph pumps ordered, so I should have no problems going forward...I hope.
