by the way, what I did for cloning was take out the peat from the holders and use perlite instead....had a prob with cloning in the original soil thingy....:joint:

u would try and replant the one that is out of the sponge, you dont want the roots exposed to the light. other then that they look fine, trust me, you need those extra CFL's i would 18/6 now, start the veg cycle. i would wait a lil before you add more nutes, there drinking, but not that fast yet, so you dont want to over feed them
What's the best way to carefully and gently replant it, without damaging the root/plant?
Toothpick to push it down into the sponge? Tweezers to push it down?
Pull it out completely and put it in a new sponge?

well if you can, with out hurting it, try takin it all the way out, then cut the sponge, but if you cant, i would just gently try and plant it deeper into the sponge

Do I wanna put it in so far that the root is submerged, or just enough so its touching and let it grow itself?

Also, is there anything I can do/buy to encourage root growth? Rather something I can buy locally at a walmart/lowes/etc than have to go online...

Walmart or places like that don't really carry anything like that for Hydroponic purposes. If you don't have a hydroponic dealer around, your best bet is to go online.

11 Days in

Still kinda slow overall, but they're hangin' in there. The issue is poor root growth, and I'm concerned the AeroGarden sponges aren't loose enough for the roots to "tear em up", so to speak. Then again, who knows..

Flushed the res today, good water plus 1/4 of an AG Starter-Nute tab.
Definitely not a good time for my biggest little gal, she dropped straight over, but maybe that's good for the stem longterm...i hope!
Definitely stressful, need to find a way to do it without removing the AG base.
Any ideas?

Also, dropped in 2 more bagseeds, they're not doin' so hot, but only time will tell....

I'm hoping that the nutes will help my girls develop quicker, they're definitely slow growers. Then again, late bloomers are usually the nicer ones!:hump:

Pic 1 is the "big" gal, 2 and 3 are the Slow-Growin' Skunks, and 4 is all togetha

Been 2 weeks, time for an update!

I got a concern, however:

Yellowing of the leaves on that 2nd pic, my middie bagseed. Started after I added 1/4 tab of AG Starter nutes, but I've heard that initial yellowing is OK to a certain extent. How does this particular girl look?

I decided to hook up my second 17W walmart CFL light...its OK to have it chilling there right in the center, yeah? I wanna spread the light around, rather than having both lights chilling there on the side.

It looks like they've got 2-3 leaf sets on them each..am i counting right? Or is that only the first/initial leaf set?
Way too early to top/FIM them, yeah?

Also, any ideas on how to remove the water from the AG res without lifting it off the base?

Thanks in advance for all your help guys! Without RIU, I'd never have even DREAMED of actually having living Ganja plants in my room. Freakin' sweet!

 :hump:

seems like she got a lil nute burn, did you pre dissolve the tabs before you put them in?

you can cipher out the water

i wouldn't have those just laying on the base, put em on the wall, it would be better to use some CFL's

er, they are CFLs....
and I can't really mount anything, moving 1 room over in a month or so, would rather just keep things simple and flexible for now

I did pre-dissolve the nutes, maybe they were just not quite ready for it yet? I topped it off with some Brita water today, lets see how they look in the morning...

I was under the impression that CFLs meant any CFL, not just the actually small "compact" ones....crap!

So I have the wrong kind of light? I understand they're weak(17W), but will they actually help at all, or just sit there and look shiny?

they will help, but its better to get some actual CFL's try and get the biggest wattage you can get, remember, Day Light for vegging, and Soft White for flowering

Just read through your thread... looks good man. They little ladies are lookin really good.....

but you have to get more CFL's no doubt.... and the right ones. This is crucial if you actually plan on gettin some nugz....its worth the additional costs. Walmart that shit dammit!

thanks :)

Once my finances straighten out, and my cash flow is better, I plan to work a large metal cabinet into a growroom, hopefully with nice CFLs, an exhaust fan, and a filter of some sort

Possibly also install a hydroton-filled, laundry-basket style backup area for more plants :)

Nice looking babies! But...more light = faster grow. It's a small investment for now until you've got the bucks to get set up the way you want!
