Sweet Seeds Big Devil & Fast Bud outdoors

For my first outdoor project this year, I am growing Sweet Seeds Big Devil and Fast bud. I soaked the seeds in water for 24hrs, then put them in Espoma Organic Seed Starting mix. About 2 1/2 days for the Big Devil to pop up, and 3 1/2 for the Fast Bud. So they are just babies, only a day old for the Big Devil, and the Fast Bud just came up over last night. I will just water them the first week, then after that I am going to be feeding with Merrils Compost Tea. This comes in packs of 12 tea bags, each makes a gallon. I will try to update at the end of week 1.:fire:001.JPG

What's up homie, I too just started Big Devil & Fast Bud babies. Mine are being grown inside though, I also used shot glass method to germ. My Fast Bud popped before my Big Devil did, I used peat pellits at first then as soon as roots started popping thre bags I switched them to party cups with FoxFarm Light Warrior. They popped up out of the ground in a little over 24 hours using a CFL. I'll be watching your progress & hope for you to do the same, will be interesting to see the difference between growing indoors & outdoors. My babies are probably just about the exact same age as yours, I hope to hear from you on my thread as well, my thread is in my signature if you want to check them out, subscribed! P'z homie...

I forgot to mention that both of these strains are "Outdoor Harvest : September", not sure what kinda climate you have where you live but being to hot may take an affect on these plants. Good luck & hope everything goes well..

I am tuned in on this. I am currently growing a White Dwarf indoors but I am really enjoying this autoflowering. I just came across the Fast Bud seeds today on a seed site and I am interested in growing them out doors this year. I figured I still have at least a month before I feel safe putting and plants and avoiding any cold weather that may come. As well as my White Dwarf gives me plenty to do. However, when that is done in another month or so I will want to grow more more more!! The real short seed to bud time just seems like something else fun to try and grow....any ways I will be watching this thread and hoping for the best for you! Good luck!

They are both autoflowering strains, and will finish way before September. Probably around 10 weeks from now. I will definitely check out your grow, it will be interesting to see the same two strains in different environment. My babies are doing good, and working on their second set of leaves, even though the first true set is still small.:weed:

Thanks, and I will try to update at least once a week, no pics today, but they are still young not much else to see yet.:joint:

Man, I'm planning on growing some Fast Bud outdoors myself, mainly because it's an autoflowering plant and i live up north (well, not all the way up north, but it gets cold pretty fast). I'll be following your progress on your puppies. One love

Hey that's one idea to help improve your success's with marijuana in harsh/low temps! Keepin' em inside an insulated environment like RV's and cars with good and wide windows that allow plenty of morning sunshine close enough such as to keep them healthy. Just my idea for the plant at high altitudes.

Sorry no update, just got home, I will snap a few pics later, they stretched a bit under those UFOs because they were too high, but they couldnt be lowered without crushing the regular plants.

Here is my update after week one, they lost out on some good sunlight because I wasnt home, they were under some LED UFOs for a couple days, getting 12/12, as they were in a flower room. They are soaking up the sun today though, and they got their first feeding of compost tea. They are about 2 inches or so tall, would be taller but as the stalk grows under the initial round leaves, I bury it, keeps the plants profile shorter, and all that gets buried turns to root eventually anyway, at least it does with regular plants, though these probably wont have the veg time to do that. These pics were before I buried the stalk below the round leaves. The pic is them under a cfl, I move them there at night to give them a few more extra light hours.

That thing behind them is a heater, but it has a fan setting, so there is no heat just air pushing over the girls.

Things are looking good, hopefully the weather stays nice. They are working on their 3rd set of true leaves, they have the single, a set of 3, and another set coming up in the center of both plants.

Hey man, just thought I'd stop by. I am having problems with a few of my autos, looks like they might die. I haven't updated my thread in a few days but I'll most likely update tomorrow. I transplanted them into 3 gallon pots & 3 of them have very little roots, the other 3 are fine. I had them sitting in light warrior for the past 10 days. I'm starting to think sweet seeds has bad seeds, atleast my pack is. Your plants are looking nice, keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear about that. Sweet Seeds is a very good company, as you can see your plants came up, after that its up to the grower. You may not want to start directly in the light warrior, probably a mix of that and another more basic soil would work. I have seen problems with just ff soil alone at the beginning. As you can see, I use a seed starting mix, these are a fine mixture, and have just the right amount of stuff in them to germinate seeds and they can grow in that alone for a few weeks. It helps when you first start to feed as well. There is very little amounts of nutrients in seed starting soils, so when you feed, mainly what your plant gets is what you fed them and nothing else, because by the time you do feed them most the soil is well flushed of anything else. But after god knows how many hours of research I have found that Sweet Seeds is one of the best companies you can buy feminised seeds from. They have fantastic strains at great prices, and their descriptions are some of the most accurate. Probably the best spanish seed company, available to the masses at least.bongsmilie

Gave them a second, and stronger feeding of compost tea today. They are putting off a smell now, a very nice smell I must say, both are some what similar, but as the description of each suggests, the big devil smells more skunky, the fast bud more sweet. Im hoping they come out like sweet seeds says, a fruity skunk for the big devil, and a diesel like smell for the fast bud. When the leaves are rubbed of the fast bud, it does have a citrusy funk to it.:weed:

dang you already have a smell with in two weeks??? My auto White Dwarf is in full fledged flowering on week 6 and even has crystals all over it now, and it still barely smells. Not until I actually burst some of the Trich's by rubbing a leaf then I get a very nice sweet aroma from mine...But nice work and keep it up!

They had a smell yesterday when I smelled them in the middle of the day, later that night they had no smell, interesting. They have a smell if I rub the leaves but not much of one. I think it was because I had fed them several hours before, and I think they liked it. They seemed to react very well. If they are anything like non autos, some will have a smell in veg, some wont.:weed:
