Day 34 since switching to 12/12

They seem to be doing well, the buds are starting to do their thing.
Temps have been getting into the lower 80's the last couple nights. This is the warmest January ever:finger:
Prior to flowering I topped the orange kush and cloned it.There are a few pics below of that plant being transplanted. That roots excelurator does quite a good job.:hump:
Also, there are a couple pics of the cuttings that are well rooted being transplanted.I like to plant them as deep as possible without burying any foliage.

I forgot to mention that I'm feeding the rooted cuttings 4ml of each base nutrient,3ml of cal-mag and 1.1ml of roots excelurator per gallon of RO water
Usually I start them off at 5ml of each base nutrient, but I just happened to have some of this mix laying around so thats what these will get untill the rest are rooted.

damn man.. :weed:
We are looking at an abundance of donkey dicks in the making right there..

:peace:
LMAO:lol:

I'm impressed. Besides that small amount of light bleaching, I'd have to say that you've done an extremely good job ;-)

The Sweet Tooth is a really nice high too. It's not that fruity taste you like, but it really does taste like sweet pine needles. I've never tasted any other stuff like it....

Day 36 of bloom
I started them on shooting powder today. They say to flush every week whilst using shooting powder and I know you shouldn't mix the top booster with the shooting powder.I'm a little confused as to whether you're supposed to flush before even using the shooting powder to rid the medium of what top booster is still left.
However,I was feeling too lazy to flush them so I didn't take the safe route.
Sooooo,I am now adding 6.5 of each base nutrient,3ml of cal-mag,3.8ml of bud XL and 2.6g of shooting powder per gallon of RO water.
Before adding bud XL or shooting powder I tested the water the ph was 5.8 and ppm was 750 or so.After adding them the ph was 6.0 and ppm just under 1000.I was surprised,I thought that the shooting powder would put the ppm way higher.

Thanks man,I'll have to check in on yours again I've been a lil' busy lately. You are about a month in too correct?

Haha,That means a lot coming from you.I couldn't have got this far without you teaching me 90% of what I know.Had you not taken me under your wing last summer it's possible that I'd still be using backyard soil!
I know that I remember liking the taste of it when you grew it:weed:

I only took a couple pics tonight.Like I said,I'm feeling lazy.

I was experimenting with a seedling from some shwagseed.I killed it last night and just thought I'd share some pics.
Despite all the torture I put it through(I was feeding it very high strength nutes,I let it get VERY rootbound and barely ever watered it)this thing was really healthy.
Check out how the roots only grow along the sides of the container once rootbound!
Next grow I will be either using smart pots or painting the inside of the containers with copper hydroxide to make more use of my coco.

nice grow man. love seeing the 400's at work
Thanks man,I love seeing your avatar lol.
How did you put the pic up like that?

That's pretty cool that the roots only were growing on the side. I never realized that's what happens when it gets root bound.

Day 38 of 12/12
The pistils are starting to change color and calyxes are swelling.
Those damn brown spots are starting to appear again:spew:.I just got done flushing so I'm really thinking it's heat stress now.I'll try and remember to get a pic showing some of them next update.

I rearranged them again and I took some pics while they were away from the HPS.The last three pics are of the orange kush.I looked at it closely today and I think that this plant is just about as far along as the sweet tooth. The buds are so damn puny that I just never realized it.The harvest weight from this plant is gonna be pathetic.

The stuff that you're growing will taste a whole lot better. I waited way too long to harvest last time.
How long did you wait?
Doesn't strawberry cough take about eight or nine weeks too?

I emailed humboldt wholesale with a few questions about H&G nutrients and they replied today.
Apparently you shouldn't have to use a cal/mag supplement when using their two part nutrients.Hmmmmmmmm,I'm not so sure about that but whatever.
I also asked if the high P and K in the top booster were maybe causing a calcium lockout.Brad said he had never heard of top booster causing this problem.
I asked about flushing before using shooting powder and he said if using drip clean you shouldn't have to flush untill right before harvest.Again I wasn't so sure of this as I remember reading somewhere you should flush every week when using shooting powder,so I went searching and look what I found http://www.house-garden.com.au/feed_charts_guidelines.php
It might be that you only have to flush when using shooting powder if you're not using drip clean:confused:,but one would think their website would account for you using the drip clean.
Either way,I'm not using drip clean.I'm thinking about waiting for signs of a lockout before flushing,I'm not sure yet.It would be good to know if I didn't need to flush though.
I also asked about their chart not calling for multizyme untill bloom because it seems like it would be beneficial during veg as well.He didn't answer this question.I'm gonna ask again in a few days when I email them about supposedly having to use drip clean from the begining or not at all.I would like to know why.

Oh yeah and that whole thing about them changing cocos A/B.They didn't change it at all, they did a new analysis in CA and that's what they found.A's label went from 8-0-0 to 3.9-0-3.3,that's a pretty big mistake if you ask me.

I don't know whats wrong with that link but if you copy and paste it works.

Looking lovely in there man.. :weed:
Makes you wanna just get in amongst em' and congregate... :eyesmoke:
about the Orange Kush... aren't most Kush strains low yielders? Thats what i have heard anyway, quality over quantity with them...
I would still love to grow some though, big yield or small..

Day 40 of bloom
I've been able to keep the temp really low the past few nights and the problem seems to have stopped.I took a couple pics of the spots though.
I took a five grape krush cuttings, using rockwool this time. This morning one of them was leaning over just like the previous one.:wall:I didn't take pics of them this time.

Yeah supposedly that is the case with kush.By the looks of things this plant is gonna yield less than half of what the sweet tooth will yield per plant. On top of that it doesn't even look like it will be more potent than the sweet tooth.
Don't get me wrong,it looks like it'll be good.I think that I would rather have another sweet tooth in there though.

The sweet tooth and orange kush's calyxes both have purple in them, however it would be very hard for me to get a pic of it.I'm sure it'll be clearly visible in the pics by harvest time

Here is the email I got from humboldt wholesale today.

Introducing Drip Clean in the middle of the plant’s life cycle is a caution. Drip Clean makes salts soluble. If there is any buildup of salts when you first use Drip Clean, they will all become available at once. This is risking burning the plants. You can introduce Drip Clean at ¼ strength to start with, ½ strength next and ¾ strength the third time. After that you should have no problems.

Using Multi Zen during veg can be helpful only if you have genetics that don’t grow fast enough. You can cause some unwanted stretching of the plants by using Multi Zen too early. Thanks for your interest in our products.

Kind of interesting about the drip clean.Bigbong and I were talking about it and I'm going to experiment with it soon here:fire:

Last night I started feeding them 5.5ml base nutrients,3ml cal-mag,3.8ml bud XL and 5.2g of shooting powder per gallon of RO water.
Tonight a friend of mine showed me how to take a good pic on this camera,so there is actually one decent pic this time:clap:
