So, I had one seed that started to germ, I planted it, 5 days later, nothing. I dug it up and the little tap root was brown and fell off, I tossed it to the side and planted one more that seemed like maybe it was cracking, three days later, nothing. I dug that one up and it was still a dud, as I dug it up I noticed on the top of the soil was the first seed I seed I had planted and tossed to the side, but it had grown out a full new tap root, sitting on top of the soil!!! Buried it again, and today she popped out of the soil!!!! What the fuck, Im glad I got one up, but shit, how wierd is that. Almost 3 weeks on monday since I got them. Fuck Barneys Farm, now all of my others are about 2 1/2 weeks ahead of the tang, and that was supposed to be my staple strain this grow.
I have been germing seeds the same way as those, and 100 % germ rate, except for the tangs. What a weak strain.

I think the tangerine dreams take alot of patience. I only tried popping 1 because I went ahead and popped all the freebies and didn't want to have too many to deal with. It took my TD about 12 days to pop. It was kind of discouraging watching others popping like crazy in a day or two. The TD I have is looking healthy and has been in soil for a few days now.

The next TD I try to pop I think I'm going to try the sandpaper thing and see if that moves things along a bit faster.

12 days?? wow! I don't think I've ever seen a strain put out such a wide spectrum of data before. Lol, I don't think 2 people have had the same experience with it yet. I think maybe barneys rushed it into production before they had it as stable as it's supposed to be or something? Also, my TD seeds looked a little immature How about yall's?

tangerine dream really is a delicious smoke but it wasnt an extreme high.
these stories about the germing are upsetting but at least their other strains redeem them

Alright!!!!!!!! My second attempt at germing the rest over again worked!!!!!
I dried em out for 1 day, and then threw them in jiffy pellets and, boom 6 days later I go little girls. This is 3 weeks since I first started trying to germ them. So 3 out of 5.
But they are so behind schedual and wont be able to veg as long

Glad you got them to pop, they are stubborn little buggers. If they come anywhere close to matching their description it will be worth the effort though.

I'm a Sativa fan myself, but my girl likes the indicas. She's loving LA Woman right now....

It grows like a hybrid but the smoke knocks you down, lol

All but one of my td seem to be pretty finnicky sensitive plants...only one of them is keeping up with the sour kush. but its beautiful..great node length and awesome leaves. nice and thick stalk. most of mine are working on their 4th set of leaves

I'm at three days soaking now and nothing... This strain wasn't ready for market or we got old seeds... seeds looked mature, were a bit small. The shame of it is, I'll probably never trust BF again and that's a shame...

Hey I read a post not too long ago that suggested a method for sluggish seeds. I had some that were taking a long time and tried it...they germed, but who knows if it helped. What you do is take a matchbox or similar..maybe a small jewelry box, whatever. Line the inside with fine sandpaper..I just cut to fit and glued it in. So then you take a couple seeds and put 'em in there and gently shake it a bit. The premise is that it scars up the outer shell and lets the moisture get in better. You can't really see that though. I put the box away with my seeds and try it again if I get some slow ones.
There's a similar method on this Youtube vid:

Tried this with some bagseed & got fantastic results. 31 out of 41 popped. Some were immature or I think they would've popped too. I planted a few of the seeds that didn't germ and they sprouted in the cups I planted them in. I think the sandpaper scratching the outside of the seeds helped a lot. Also, I bought a new rag for this from the dollar store to ensure it was clean. Worth the $1.00 investment I think... :blsmoke:
