Tell me if this setup is good enough to grow a couple plants? (pictures encluded)

To be honest I do not want to waste my time anymore with a kid who thinks he can grow with a cardboard door.

Instead of ragging on his setup help him out man you gotta start somewhere and some people dont have the money that you and I do to make a nice setup.

Hey bud i would go to home depot and get some sheet rock less than 8 bucks then get some white paint or if u can afford another 8 bucks u can get some white/black film and youd b better off

I really don't see the need to enclose the plants at all. Mine are unleashed in a full bedroom with a centrifugal fan blowing 700cfm's into another bedroom creating ventilation, with one oscillating fan and one box fan both creating good air circulation. You won't need the ventilation if your just using fluorescents, just good airflow on the plants. and when you flower you'll be better off using a small hps and lots of fans keeping temps down. making the box fire proof for a real light to flower is essential but you won't keep you're temps in range without a decent fan for ventilation and fans for circulation.

its white/black film it goes for about 1.50 a lf its 10' wide 90% reflective

I grew two plant in a cardboard box, I used 2 cfl lights 1 for each plant. I think they were 11w each. I did 12/12 from seed and only got an 1/8th.. there was no fire risk at all with 2 light, I atatched them to lamps and had to pc fans in the box. no problems. but i wouldnt put aything other than cfls in a cardboard box though and I wouldnt use more than 4 MAX.

edit: here is a picture turns out the lights were 20watt each I think from my other posts. Anyway I was never intrested about big yields as I dont really like to smoke bud, but I love growing it. That 1/8th lasted me over a year only smoked it because I had to get rid of it.

I made a simple set up out of chipboard, covered the inside with Foil, the front is open for the time being better air flow. maybe replace the card with wood, imagine after spending months growing your girls and then coming home to not only a burnt plant but no house....not worth it

Leave him to it i say, i thought this Forum was for helping and/or getting help with growing, not taking the piss because you THINK you know more than others.

ook you dont want to use foil. ever. as a reflector sure its adequate, but it also creates hotspots which are detrimental to your plant. i think the reasoning against cardboard is pretty self explanatory. instead i would suggest stacking two large plastic storage bins on top of eachother, cuttign the bottoms off and putting them together. then, when u need access to the plants, you can remove the top box easy as pie. also, for any reflective covering use mylar, it gets the job done. is this a stealth grow? (i.e. your hiding it from your parents) if so, you might want to look into building your own carbon filter, to help with the smell. annnd lastly, use HPS lights to get the best yield. if you cant afford it, compact flourescents work better than flourescent tubes. k good talk.

I didnt know that bout foil. I new mylar was by far more effective. Interesting. looks like its doing the job for my girls, mind you i only have 2 on the go, with a HPS. I built an open grow cuboard i spose i would call it, out of Chipboard. first grow, but i started them in a shitty viv with a bad strip light, but as soon as i put it under the HPS they just exploded, so i advice to get one of them.

just replace the cardboard with wood and slap some mylar on that bitch and you good to go

where can i get some mylar at?
