TGA Vortex, Dynagrow. dwc/ebb&flo Medical Grow --420 ppm or less

DAY 20 WITH warm nights. seeing more vegetative growth, and slower maturation of the plant. they are getting pretty darn big too. feed is proteck, bloom, 2 ml cal mag par gallon and epsom salt at 1mg per gal. The epsom gives me the sulfur i want, with out all the P that comes with mag pro.

I've done lots of trimming to these two bushes, trying to thin out the little stuff from the inside. These girls really exploded over 23 days. maturing of the plant is going slower than my previous grows with this strain, so warm nights and some added N did what I was hoping. Now is when we see if I can get a decent size bud out of this pheno, I hope the next 5 or 6 weeks put some weight on these bitches.

Here are my Qleaners. about 20 days old. I just switched to a top feed system and they love it! check out the overnight difference before and after adding top feed tubes.

Day 40 on my 4th try at vortex. The warmer nights and increased Nitrogen extended flowering time and boosted stretch. It did not seem to do much for building bigger bugs. I am going to finish these 2, but no more vortex for me. Tired of the mini-buds. I'm even going to throw 2 of them in the dumpster that are 2 weeks into flowering. I sure hope I can get a good looking bud out of qleaner.

weird, those are not putting out much. yeah toss the others if they're the same pheno, that one is just not a winner. do you have anything from another breeder?

All I have at this time is some Qleaner ready to swap in. I'm not sure what to think about the Vortex... tried a few different things to fatten up those buds but no luck. Over all growth was huge, but not the bud size. Anyone reading this journal should keep in mind that I only had one female to work with here, so this may just be a weird pheno of vortex. It could also be a result of my growing style. My hydro setup worked incredibly well with the durban poison I was growing before the vortex. It grew into a huge bush just like the vortex, only it had big buds at the end of every branch. I have looked at some other vortex grows, and don't see anyone getting the style of growth I was getting. most are dirt growers using super soil.

I've been waiting for my red card to show up in the mail, now that I have it I can go looking for some new genetics. We'll see what happens with qleaner.

those durbans were awesome. i hope the qleaners turn out well. i'm sure it was a pheno within the Vortex pool. i grew out 5 space bombs from sub and they were all different. i just bought some cannatonic, a low thc/high cbd variety. looking to try some high cbd meds and see what they do for me. keep up the good work man

tht vortex looks a lot like the space bimb in whodats journal so i would assume its just a pheno difference
subcool doesnt breed for yields its usually resin content and flavor
my querkle dom qrzy train isnt a super yielder but has nice lavender fuel smelling buds tht have the classic look to them

I know Ive chimed in on the whole Vortex bud size thing before, but yeah pheno really matters as I also had this same small bud pheno...but my avatar is also Vortex from the same 10 pack.... and that plant had donkey dicks. Anyway...I'm stoked to see what Qleaner does for ya!

I wish I had more phenos to choose from, this was my only fem out of 5 seeds. I fucked the other 5 seeds up with some damping off I think.

Got my fingers crossed on the qleaner girls.

I don't expect to add much more to the vortex journal, although I do have 2 more in the flower room finishing up. I raised the light all the way to the ceiling, and they like it better than having the lights close. I am counting on the qleaners to produce for me. The qleaner journal should see frequent updates.

They do smoke real nice. The high is a good sativa high, not to distracting or demotivating. The duration is a little on the short side. These plants produced a big ol' batch of ice water extract using leaves and loose bottom buds. Aroma is still just average, and has been easy to deal with in the flower room.

Today I was cleaning up the net pot from this vortex grow. I was experimenting with this setup and was combining ebb and flow with DWC. I flooded halfway up the basket 2 times a day, and had DWC about 6" deep in the bucket around the clock. When I cut open my 6" rockwool block I found very few roots in it. Most roots were growing around the block, next to the plastic and heading down to the deep water culture. The roots basically told the rockwool to get the hell out of the way. The roots in the DWC were very fine and looked great.
