I dont think they have to be all the way in the water. With the one i made i have a pump for 20 gal. tank. The water splashes so it shouldn't dry out. I will let you guys know how it works in a week I made Thursday night.

Gotot, walmart has everything you need for this little project. You could even make it a mist system very easily instead of bubbler with stuff from wally world. After fighting piss poor cloning rates for a month my problem was simply too low of a temperature. A visit to the pet dept at wally world and I had a fish tank heater that fixed the prob. My water now sits at 78 f all the time. I don't use a dome, but I do mist the clones every few days.

Lol when i saw this i found it hilarious. I had done the exact same thing (same box, same drill size, same everything, (2 cfls, 23 watt). The only difference was i used an ultrasonic nebulizer/mister making fog above the standing-water in the tub. Worked wonders... until root rot set in that is(DAMN U ORGANIC NUTRIENTS!).

I used this technique but i still havent seen any root action.. its been 6 days. There's no yellowing of my leaves of sings of dying at all but no roots. I only have 2 26 watt cfl's on 2 clones. Is this enough? Thanks for the help!

this technique is humane in the way that the clones dont die easily like other methods........but man is it really slow to make roots. Id say some would really rather see clones die than to watch them not throw roots for 3 weeks and still not kill the cutting.

There has to be something else to it with Zen getting bushes of roots blowing out of his cuttings after 10 days..........

WHAT IS THE SECRET!?!?!?!?!?!

I've had a hell of a time getting clones to root lately (they used to go nuts in under 10 days). Went and bought some cloneX and it helped, but still slow. Check your ph often and maintain good water temp. I think I started having problems when I went from 18/6 to a 24hr light cycle (can't get the dam digital timer to work right).

Holes in the top for air? Reread thread before smoking.

There is one pic with the dome on top. Now does it have holes or not??
i dont beleive the top has holes its a humidity dome. but you gotta take the dome of a couple times a day for 5 or 10 minutes

maybe you need a hole somewhere to let air out from the air bubbles from underneath. lol oh man
its not airtite so it can get out
maybe i should smoke and reread.

I thought they had some holes. I'm brand new to this and I guess detailed examples are not shown about these clone dome systems. I swear I seen some type of opening with a cover though with some of these type of domes.
Awesome setup I would try if the snow would stop so I can go to walmart and get some supplies : )
