The Kalo Patch - Bodhi's Lotus Larry, Greedo's Stash, Cherry Puff, and Grape Puff

Finally getting around to starting some bodhi and gage green stuff.
Got the lotus larry (larry og x snowlotus), Greedo's Stash (socal master kush x snowlotus), cherry puff (cherry pie x OG joe), Grape Puff (grapestomper 3a x OG Joe).
These will be grown as organically as possible outdoor. Using subcools super soil, homemade worm and regular compost, and roots organic base

Doing two of each for now, its all I have space for. Or do you guys think its better to just run like 4 of each on less strains so you can better see the variability in the strain?
I have limited space so I kind of like just poking around with many different strains at once. I'm open for suggestions though

I've started 2 of the cherry puff and 2 of the lotus larry today. One of the CP already has a tail on it. Should be good times!




Harvested my first batch of comfrey and made a Fermented Plant Extract using brown sugar to extract the vital nutrients using osmotic pressure. Comfrey is high in potassium and using brown sugar to ferment takes only a week compared to the typical way of just fermenting in water for a month. I applied it to some of my plants in my garden today so we will see what happens with it later. I failed at finding a source of comfrey locally and I ended up just ordering some roots of it online.

Well, I got a new LED light. 420w Helios, the thing is bright as fuck! Unfortunately two of the modules went out about 10 minutes after plugging it in! Shit...
Good news is it is simple enough to open everything up and I think it is just a minor wiring issue. The company has been real responsive with helping me look at everything and test the power supplies and what not. It still more than adequate for now with 10 of the 12 LED modules functioning properly.

I want to finish up a couple of my outdoor girls under this thing once I get a little carbon filter to control the stank.

Anyway, 1 Cherry puff was a dud and looked so from the get go...I assume thats why there was an extra seed in the pack.
The others are making there way though the dirt as we speak.
Gonna start the greedo's stash and grape puff tonight. I'm hoping the LED speeds up Veg times drastically.

Here's a little update, these photos were taken over a week ago. They have gotten a bit bigger since taking the photos and I've started to lst some of them.

Speaking of evolving, I've begun my own pollen-chucking experiments.

Here is a fresh little batch of beans. The cross is Rare Dankness Doc's OG (Face off og x RD#1) x BBGs Phosphate Diezel Dawg ((Lemonstomper OG x Agent Orange)x BBG's Chem. Diezel Male))
Waiting to harvest my 2nd pheno of the Phosphate Diezel Dawg, which I also dusted with some of the Doc's pollen. They are both special strains in my opinion, and I'm excited to see how the crosses turn out. I'm hoping the Doc's OG will lend some of its dense structure and mold-resistance to the already dank Phosphate, who cannot handle being outside but finishes rather quickly at around 50 days.

Doc's OG Nugs: One of the few times a strain was exactly what I expected, minus my own shortcomings as a grower. She has an indescribable funk with a hint of citrus and a ceiling-less high, that honestly gets me a little too high and can feel nausea if I keep smoking while trying to do anything strenuous. I still love the work RD has done with this one and makes me eager to try more of their gear.

And here's a shot of the stuff in flower. All these little guys are BBG Phosphate Diezel Dawgs, one Cali Conn. GSC, and a RP Purple OG#18. Bout one week in 12/12






The Bigger ones in 5 gal. smart pots look like shit because they got all fucked up while I was away on my vacation and had to be revegged. They are coming back around though. They are a 3-dad GDPiezel and a Soda Berry Jazz by Bean Boyz genetics. The 3d GDP is the one I have my eye on...she has a very intense stench and has color changing tendencies I believe.




And last but not least, a little Cola from a Cali Connections "Girl Scout Cookies" plant I had outdoors. She grew some nice heavy nugs, not a very strong smelling strain but surprisingly good flavor in a joint. My friend with Cancer really enjoyed the samples I gave him.

LED seems to be working in the flowering tent. Still not sure if I have to adjust the light position or not to hit the sweet spot. 2 plants are about 8 inches away from the light and seem to have more internodal spacing than rest of the plants that are about 24" away from the light. Either way, they are growing and flowers/resins are forming.

The Blu-Mats are working great! I just top feed about once a week with some compost tea and refill my 5 gallon bucket with plain water and thats it. If I had closer access to a water spigot, I could attach the blumats directly to the water source and never have to refill my reservoir. With the right soil, you wouldnt need to do anything but pop your head in the tent every now and then to make sure everything is ok.



Here's a little shot of Cali Connection GSC (Note: purple is from the light, not the genetics). Its hard to get good photos under LED, even with a high-powered DSLR external flash. I will get some updates of the GGG/Bodhi gear tonight. They have been lst'd/topped recently and are filling out nicely.

Here's some pics of the babies. I kinda defoliated them and have been doing a little bit of lst on them. I realize it is backwards to begin the LST before determining sex but I'm just doing it for fun and dont have any time constraints.

What are you referring to with the calmag def? I noticed these little white specks formed on some of the leaves. I gave it an aloe and silica, foliar spray a couple of days ago.

Looking great dude. Glad to hear what you said about GSC from cali connection.. would've figured that. GSC is a great strain... but i figure it'll take a while to get right in a cross, bc it's already a multi-hybrid that tastes good itself. I made an F1 with an s1 from the clone only... looking forward to trying her out

never grown any gage green but i know you'll enjoy the bodhi gear. bodhi has top knotch stuff imo

The Greedo's and 2 cherry puffs were males. Gonna keep them around, the cherry puffs has a dank stench in veg and one of them has some trichomes on them so I may dust them with the confirmed cherry female I have. I put them outside to do their thing.
The grape puff is still unconfirmed, but that too has a super dank smell in veg...so I may end up with a couple male keepers.

I have two lotus larry seedlings going and a handful of pre-98 bubba crosses from alphakronik.

The LED is working OK, but I feel the buds are not as big as they should be but they are rock hard. I did flower them when they were really short maybe 5 inches. Maybe I'm too used to flowering outside and getting much bigger nugs that arent as tight but I'm just gonna roll with it and see what happens.

I think heat might be an issue also, I had to move my flowering tent because we are doing some work on our house and it is in a hotter area of the house now. I have the light schedule to be off during the day and on at night, but it still pushes 85F on some days here and nights get down to 76F. It'll start cooling down as winter makes its way. I've been fighting the urge to just hook up the 400w in the tent instead of the LED, but I'm just gonna see this current run till the end and then assess the situation.

I am actually seeing better results from the plants that are further from the light. The manufacturer recommends a distance of 24" during veg but mine are a little closer than that. Still trying to find that "Sweet spot." I'll try to get pics up soon...between my 9-5 and home renovations, i've been pretty busy.

i veg with my led at 24 inches and theyre nice. i go 12-18 inches for flowering, but flowers 36 inches away were just as developed and icy but less density. i was surprised by that.

Here's a close up of the male flower of the Greedo. The plant seems in otherwise good health, so I'm guessing it is a genetic expression rather than a nutrient issue. Could be wrong though?





Here's the Cherry Puff male. It has much tighter male flowers than the Greedo. Little bit of frost starting to happen on him as well. Hard to capture it in the pic but its there.

Here's a shot of my Indigenous Micro Organism project using IMO bokashi
I initially inoculated about 30 lbs of Rice bran to bulk up the microbes I collected on cooked white rice. Then I added a bit of alfalfa meal, bio-char, a little blood meal and some old soil to bulk it up even further. I re-moistened everything with my imo#1 mix, fermented comfrey juice, and some aloe.








As you can see there is plenty of fungal activity but the mix is still very warm to the touch. I've been turning it everyday to keep the temp down and keep it oxygenated.
