Nice grow space WSW,

Thought I'd comment and say that you should check out my journal because I think you could benefit from the first half of it! I say first half because I caught a deal on Craigslist and upgraded to x2 150w HPS systems + CFL, from just CFLs.(got the pair for $125)
I've got some lights which are similiar to your in a way. I got them from Target with sorta the same vision you have in mind(I'd say).

But with CFLs, you don't want any height unless you can supplement that plant with adequate lighting down the sides.
You should aim for just as much light around the sides as you have from the top, so maybe drop some of the CFLs and that'd helpout a lot with the branching, and thickening them up. I kept all my CFLs within an inch and a half I'd say AT ALL TIMES.
Idk about you but i prefer bush with these women lol
Also bro, LST! bend your tops over if you can. Look up the word auxin in regards to the weed plant. But basically if you make the top of the plant no longer the top, it'll thicken out. If your stems arent too stiff you should start NOW! You still have time. Also, rotate them often. I also used a mixture of CFLS(65k,5k,35k,and 27k). I did a lot of reseach in regards to growing with CFLs and most of it you can get from the first half of my journal bro
I think you're a couple weeks behind me tho. I potted up 44 days ago.
Also some of the pics show either underwatering or overwatering whichever you think.

Good luck partner. :joint:
Thanks for the advice 420, it is greatly appreciated. Idid LST last grow and it certainly worked to my advantage. I poan to pull these ladies down, i have just been lazy and with the holdays, to much family around to send any time in my garden. I read your thread and have found your conversations with SomeB to be somwhat inspirational. I think today will be a good day to spendwith my gals (wife included lol)
Last grow using cfl's from start to finish averaged 1.5oz dry weight per plant. I was very impresed with the outcome. I would post some photo's of my last grow however, my computer was stolen about 6 months ago and that is where all the pics were :( Last time around i vegged with 100% 6500K bulbs and flowered with mainly 2700K and a few 65K. I had a bit of a heat issue the last go round but this time in my new space, temps are constant between 72 and 78. I think that perhaps when i flower i may have to use some supplimental heat to keep temps up when the lights go off. My garden is on an outside wall of my VERY old house and i think it will cool off quite quickly when it goes dark.

Anyway 420, i enjoyedreding your thread, read it from start to finish. You seem like a level headed and educated man fr 24 years old. I myself am 43 but feel like 25 most days. Thanks for the inspiration. I welcome you to check back on progress and assure you i will be checking yours.

Peace

Thanks WSW for the nice words sir! And def. take advantage of the day in front of you right? You NEVER know when the maker is gonna call ya..
I embrace tho moments because we don't have them enough WSW. It's always a competition between men it seems..No matter what the deal.
I've just found it better to try and relate first, rather than pointing out the difference and its taken me around the world and I NEVER in a million years imagined ME seeing the other side of the ocean..Not to mention living and learning the language..And I'm 24 lol but I feel like 42 most days....Anxious as to what the future really holds, but just concious enough to realize I can map that out!

Thanks for your words, and I'm glad you got some juice from Beech, myself and the others while you stopped by! I'll be checking you out too!
Success sir!

Got the girls tied down yesterday 420. Too many eyes around tonight to get into the garden and take pis but i will just as soon as i can. In all the hoopla yesterday, neglectd to check moisture and when igot home today they were a little droopy :( Gave them a good drink and i'm sure they will be perky in no time. THing that bothers me was this watering was to be feeding time and i didn't think it wise to water with nutes in a distressed state. I guess they willhave to wait a day or two.
Peace

I guess I was on another thread of yours but good goin here too bro.
Now you can drop those lights some. I had all my CFLs no further than 2" away at all times and got no heat stress, but great internodal spacing as a result!
I would say you'd rather be almost burning your leaves than letting them stretch with the CFLs ya know?
I've read that outside 4", your cutting the bulb production pretty good with CFLs.

You should have to move them higher daily I'd say!
And make sure you keep the side lighting up! 360 degrees lighting!

Lookin' good bro.
And I'm not an expert like some ppl claim to be on this website, I'm just telling you whats worked for me :joint:

THe pics are deceiving 420, those lights are no more than 2" anywhere on the plants. I have been rotating them and adjusting lights twice a day. They are really taking off now, can't wait to see what the next watering brings about as they are done stressing and i can give them the nutes i missed last watering. I have a little concern here in the next month or so, my wife and I are going to lay on a beach in the tropics for a week right when i plan to flower !! I have someone in the "family" coming to look after my house and my ladies, just hope the "love" is the same :)

Love the room !...i would have that picture on the wall hinged from the inside with a simple switch lock to keeo anyone from opening it without a really good inspection. ....with some more lighting..you could definitly have great yields...have you thought of LED's? ...would be great for that room due to low heat and electrical pull...

Thanks Hunter. I am going to see if i can manage to use your idea about the hinge on the picture. Thanks for that . I have nevr really done any research into LED's. i have heard and read a little about them but my lights now really arent a concern in regard to heat or power draw.
