To flush or not to flush..? Nutrient burn?

If it's not too much, can you give me your opinion on Extreme blend on the kelp4less site you recommended. It's a blend of soluble kelp, fulvic acid, humic acid, and amino acids. It's 12-0-6. Will it benefit my girls if I use it once a week. Of course alternating my feeding considering the high nitrogen level. 2cent? Facts?

ive not used the blend

personally id prefer to keep the kelp and amino acid separate

there are times when id like to use kelp without the added N from the aminos
plus looking at the 12-0-6 npk numbers id say its more aminos than kelp

the humic acid and fulvic I wouldn't mind those to combined that's fine to me

Do you mind giving me an example on how you use your kelp? I have an idea from the research I've done, but really wouldn't know how to diagnose and use this as a solution to a problem? I know it's vitamins and micro nutes but would really like to know how to use it and work it into my feedings.

hmmm
there so many reason to use kelp

but It can be over done as it has hormones galore

any time your plants are stressed or need a boost

it could be used to mildly alleviate K def

it could be used to promote root growth during transplant

it could be used to alleviate shock during transplant

the benefits are forver
you just don't want to over apply it because the excessive hormones can do funny things if over done

if its used in a reservoir 24/7 the amount used would be much lower than if you only watered it in 1x per week

personally, an this is just me opinion;
I don't put it or anything organic in my reservior to keep it as clean as possible

I try and run a sterile reservoir and I foliar feed it

the effect from foliar feed is stronger and requires less powder
so itll last forever

you can spray anytime you want a boost or whatever
1/4 tsp/gallon

1 just don't spray 2x in 1 week

1x per week (of either or not both) is about right

and don't use the aminos when your in 12/12

but keep using the kelp until the 2nd or 3rd week of 12/12

I stop spraying anything by week 3 of 12/12

if you want to get a better feel

spray a plant 1/2 tsp every 3 days... watch how the plant reacts... then throw it away if/when it looks weird

the aminos

gives a good sum of N

so if your plants are already dark or overly green maybe don't use it

I use it any time they look like theyd like some extra N

it makes fan leaves blow up... use it 1x per week for 3 weeks in late veg but before bloom and your fan leaves will be as large as your head

note;

using it to often could cause N tox

youll know if you've over used it cuz the leaves will sag or droop like as if the plants been sitting in water too long

How do you determine measurements of nutrients? Like what are the %ages on the elements you go with? grow and bloom? I've noticed you custom build feedings. How? What do you use for measurements?

if you look at the "derived from" list of ingredient on each bottle

itll say elements like

calcium nitrate
magnesium nitrate
potassium nitrate
magnesium sulfate
mono potassium phosphate
potassium sulfate
iron edta
zinc sulfate
magenese sulfate
boron
copper sulfate

and a few more

all of these fertilizers are available as dry salts
many I can get from the local farmers co-op
some I order on line(depend on the time of year as it might look suspect to be buying calcium nitrate in the dead of winter)

do different than your Epsom salt which is magnesium sulfate

so what I do is buy all the macro elements in bulk (5gallon buckets)

you can also buy blends that already have many of the ingredient in one powder
for example the 5-11-26 hydro special
it contains all the elements except the calcium nitrate which is separated cuz you cant mix calcium and sulfur in the same concentrate

then you have to get/find or down load a nutrient calculator that will convert your % amounts into active elemental PPM
(which is not at all the same as a ppm meter)

active elemental ppm tells you exactly how much of each individual element is in your water/solution
much like youd expect to see if you had a lab test done on your tap water
it would tell you exactly whats in it and how much

take your favorite fertilizer for example genral hydro 3 part

key in the % amounts and convert there info into active elemental PPM and then just copy it buy blending the dry salts in a ratio that give you the equal amount

it takes some time to learn it and maybe some refreshing on high school chemistry

google search
hydrobuddy

its a free down load
play around with it a bit and the come ask mo more questions if your still interested
