hey guys and gals. ive got a problem. my set up is

dark room 300 w tent its 5 x 10 x 6
8 inch inline fan suncourt for air in kinda shitty
6 inch can fan high output for air out air being vented in the room i sleep in
central ac

the 6 inch fan is more powerful than the 8 inch. my problem is heat. it goes from 69 when lights off to 92 when lights on. any ideas, suggestions, answers and stupid comments are welcome. also whats the highest temps you guys have had for a successful harvest? how much should i worry? hope to hear from you.

you need the device that automatically turns the fans on when the temp reaches a certain temp its a thermostat.... that plugs into the wall and has another plug in it for you fan or fans i agree 92 is too hot 81 is ideal never over 81 too hot i dont try to know much or more but i have been doing this for alot of years and am pretty successful....

I use an 8" fan for intake and an 8" fan for exhaust as well....I have a co2 burner as well.....with 4 600w hps and 1 1000w mh....my temps stay at about 77 degrees to 88 degrees...my temps will go down another 10 degrees when i add cool tubes.....you can try those as well as try adding ac....Is your intake air coming from outside...mine is and thats what helps cool my room....my lights are on at night with cold night air coming in my room stays pretty chilly sometimes..

Im using the air conditioning from the apartment. cant get air from outside. it would be even hotter. cant have cool tube, the lights were a gift and they don't have that kind off attachment. also i was planning on putting another 600w in there but now I'm real worried. thanks for answering. please more comments. i need to get this figured out. the ideal temp i had in mind at the highest was 78 degrees so I'm fucking freaking out. lord please HELP!

You can make a cooltube out of a pyrex bake-a-round if your slightly handy, failing that hang ducting either end of the bulb, with your exhaust pulling air out from one side and a passive cold air intake at the other.
You could also have both fans running as exhausts, and just have passive intake slightly larger than the exhausts. As long as air can flow freely in and you have fans getting rid of the hot air, your temps will drop.

My temps are at a avg of 65 to 76 and it has no ac just fans and im running two 400 mh and a 600 hps with no air cooled hoods or inline fans because I use the cold fresh air from outside to cool off the room works great now since its winter and in the summer it would never work unless I dropped some seriuos cash.. oh yeah plz dont make fun of the trainwreck plant it was just harvested and Im revegging it

Post a picture of the room and we may see something you overlooked.

From what you posted, to get it cooler you either need to bring in cooler air (turn up the AC) or vent that hood. I think venting the hood is the answer. DIY cooltubes aren't that expensive.

That said, plants will live and give you some bud even at 92 degrees or higher, but it is of lower quality - degraded THC levels and less weight.

yeah your right only big yielder was the trainwreck and all were sog and still grew to be 2 ft, but yes my fan leafs did dry up and in my dwc buckets the water was to warm I should have used a chiller but cost to much:bigjoint:

In my tent I have to run 2 carbon filters with 4 inch HO fans on either side to get enough airflow through the tent, and I run a 7000BTU AC in the room to manage temps.

I just hit a sweet spot and am managing temps quite nicely with the cold outside. But towards the summer Im gonna need another AC.

Consider an AC or cold air intake, and just better exhaust, the more air moving through the tent the better.

I had a similar problem. I switched the more powerful fan to exhaust and the weaker fan for intake and my temps dropped from mid 80's to low 70's.

I felt so dumb after seeing how quick of a fix it was and how much it bettered my room. You live and learn. Give that a try and see if it works.

thanks picasso and king kush. ive got central air conditioning. i thought it would be fine. when i ordered my equipment, the people told me i was golden. actual words. i lifted the lamp about 8 inches and that helped a little. i cant draw air in from outside cause its hot. all i need is some reassurance that the plants will survive. ive grown from clone a bunch of times and i a sealed room with water cooled air conditioning and it was no problem. i cant belive this is happening. fuck. bctrippin i lived in bc for about a year and a half. god i miss that beautiful place. i learned alot

Its a bit louder...but if you use oversized fans with Fan Controllers, run the oversized fan at half speed and it will have the CFM you need, and run quiet.

I don't know if this helps but this was my situation

OLD VENTILATION SETUP
Intake- 6" Vortex Inline (strong fan, loud)
Exhaust- 6" Hydrofarm Inline Booster (weak fan, quiet)
Result: Loud, temps in mid 80's

NEW VENTILATION SETUP
Intake- 4" Can Fan HO (strong fan, quiet)
Exhaust- 6" Hydrofarm Inline Booster
Result: Quiet, temps in low 70's

I just swapped my intake and exhaust, using the most powerful fan as my exhaust. Now my flowering tent is ultra quiet and has ideal temps for ganja

Well placed Oscillating fans can reduce temps 10-15* Easily.

Airflow is Key, proper airflow can at least get your grow room temp down to your ambient house temps.
