Topping Cola's

Sorry for the repeat thread, posted in advanced cultivation but it seems that no fuckers scroll down that far to see it. :-P

I don't know if anybody has tried or heard of this but this happened to me quite by accident. One of my Tangerine Dreams (4 weeks into flower) seemed to be bit behind with regards bud developement. They were only half as wide as it's sisters so I decided to drop the light a bit and see if that helped. Took my eye of the ball for a few hours and when I went back, the top of one of the cola's was toasted. I decided not to leave the damaged material and nipped the damaged foliage off (approx 15mm). Now is the interesting bit, 5 days later, that toasted / topped cola is now approx 50% thicker than all the other colas. I decided to do an experiment and against my better judgement topped 2 colas on another plant to see what, if anything happens. That was yesterday, will be keeping a very close eye.

Anybody tried or heard of this before.

Only thing i can think of would be that you have removed the damaged but and so now the plant can put all of it's energy into growing what it can.

unless i have the cfl too far away from the top of the plants then this is 4 weeks growth and the hairs are starting to form the buds

Apoligies for light being on, plants are too big to fuck about draging them out. All the buds were roughly the same size before toasting.

This is a pic of the whole plant, topped bud is on the left.

This is pic of normal bud, the one on the right.

Just had a butchers this morning and on closer inspection, there are now 3 stems to the cola where there was 1 previously. This plant has never been topped or fimmed, only supercropped to manage the canopy.
