one more thing guys i have a question
I found one male in the group. It was the ak-47 i adopted. Here is my problem though. This plants roots have interlocked with the female for the most part. How do i go about getting this out of there without damaging the root ball of the female. That is one stress factor i do not want to do to the female. If i just cut the male off i know the roots will die and that sets me up for possable root rot and at this stage i do not want that.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated
just as a reminder the plants are DWC

You could test a theory of mine.. Try cutting back the male, just about one node in height. The hope is this keeps the plant alive, thus keeps the roots alive, thus not leading to root rot. Additionally, all the male pollen sacs will be down in the lowest part of your garden, not up high inches away from your lovely colas. So! If any pollination were to occur you would only be sacrificing your lower nodes/bud sites. I have not tested this theory, and realize it has several flaws. I hope it helps and maybe gets you thinking a little bit differently at the very least. Also... i uprooted 5 plants (replanted one) in my WaterFarm... The one i saved, has come back and is "healthy" a week later, lost a lower limb or two, but otherwise healthy.one more thing guys i have a question

(working in DWC keep the roots submerged and use the natural flowiness of the water to your advantage, gently untangle underwater, and let the roots just sort of "drift" apart... maybe?)

I see what you mean. I actually did this before just chopping it. I have it cut one node above the base. and removed any top i could see. There is no way to untangle i kinda threw that out last night. The female i have has a monster root system. it almost impresses me as much as the plant does. Lots of healthy roots make good results

Also, assuming my technique is good, I'm gonna try to FIM the other plants in the pics, thoughts?

its a thread about TOPPING, and I posted pics of TOPPING
Heck, I know if somebody ELSE had posted those, and i came across this thread, that would be a good example for a newb like me on how/where to top. The more examples/info a person has, the better
As well, the post carried a question regarding "should I Top this plant?", which I'm sure a lot of people are asking at this very moment. What if they have plants of similar size/age?
I definitely didn't try to hijack your thread, FullDuplex, I got too much respect for the RIU community to do that. I merely wanted to add-on my own little bit of something, and receive a bit of advice in the process. If it helps me, it'll help the guys that come after me as well, when they start THEIR grows and come to this stage.

Took that way to out of proportion. Didnt mean to step on your toes. I didnt think it was a lack of respect or anything of the sort and i do see where it is a help.

Its a sad sad day in the south.............
Guys its been a pleasure to talk to you all and get the knowledge of this art. But i have some bad news that i wish i wasnt typing at this time.
I had to chop her today. She wasnt far enough along to get anything from at all.
I have had some marital issues and its the last thing that i need is that against me. I know that she is vendictive enough to pull anything and think about the results of her actions after the damage is done. I dont need to loose all i have made for my self over a silly woman.
I will still continue to visit here and read and learn, cause you can never get enough knowledge about anything.
Once all of this is over i intend on starting again. THis time with a little more bang.

thanks man i appreciate the good wishes. I will have a place in the future that will baby sit. The time about this was now or be caught up in a mess. I had to do something fast. I wish that none of this had to happen but like you said best thing that i could have done. Its just not worth it and i was not about to get caught up in a real mess. She dosent know what she has lost and thats the bad thing. She had it made all she had to do was live and eat. But somethings are just not worth putting up with.

I hear ya dude.
Well guys i have some good news finally. there is a little silver lining around every dark cloud. I have found a new place to continue my hobby without the worry of all hell breaking loose. Its safe secure and remote. Still indoors and still with all my equipment. This was the highlight of my weekend to be exact.
So there will be a new grow journal soon. Seeds are almost cracked and ready to go into the AG. I am only using the AG this time to start the grow, as i have designed a new DWC set up that will hold 5 plants. Everything is in place and my grow space now has a veg/clone side as well as a flower side
I was a very busy fellow this weekend so lets hope this time i make it to harvest
