Two 600 watt HPS shelved! got my eyes on cutters kit few questions

I have a few questions regarding setting up the kit Cutters have for sale.

I'm growing in a 2 metre tent I have two 1 metre parabolic 600 watt lights going with the ballasts outside the tent.
I am coming to the end of a grow , results are mixed I had ideas to go LED eventually.
I am probably pulling over 1200 watts on those ballasts and thinking I would do lot more light if I've pulled 600 Watts through Cree cxb3590 .
I was dealing with heat issues for ambient temperatures even.

thinking of doing two kits 1 for each meter . Whats best to go with 6 cobs in metre or 8.

Easier for me to use the angled aluminium as I have extra around the house, designs can be tricky on the layout especially 8 hot spots.
Anybody has any ideas on designs best coverage excetra please leave an opinion or idea :)

I'm pretty new to this, but it seems that Cree 3590 setups use about 30-40% less energy then good quality HPS. Its not only lm/w effiency, there is no IR, its 180 degres instead of 360 and so on...
Considering you are using 2 600w hps, you should be pulling 1260w(5% ballast) from the wall. So you should be aiming for 800-900w(16-18 cobs) in total for best performance. From what I have read, the golden rule for high performance with 3590 is 50w per sq foot.
You may get away with even 500-600w COB(check video bellow), maybe yield the same as now because you will have less heat stress.

Hoping for someone to validate this as I'm not sure if It got this right as well

The guy has few good videos .
Measurements roughly six cobs square metre ?

depends on the cob and driver
for 2 meter is 6.5 feet so 42 sq feet you can do 24 cobs @1.4A will give you a ppfd of 890
You can run them harder and use less cobs or softer and use more cobs,

Anybody do similar frames with a Cob's.

Thank you Turfsire for your order, appreciate your support. In regards to frame most folks seem to go for a cost based frame, ie Aluminium L brackets and that works fine, Im not a fan, but understand the cost argument. Lot of cutting and drilling and you end up with a fixed type frame. My only issues with that is the fixed nature and many of these frames tend to look bowed and unstable. I would recommend 20x20mm TSOLT for inherent strength, also you have the flexibilty of being able to slide/move COBS into different positions that may help account for plant grow characteristics and this will allow you to move the cobs. Im sure either solution will serve your purposes and this is only my humble opinion, check growmau's videos as he demonstrates builds with both Bracket and tslots

Made up a frame and assembled it, set up the cobs, wired them up to the driver .
when I plugged in I got a little flicker no steady light.

I am finding it very difficult to get the wires into the sockets that are around the cobs . I think I'm better off getting solid core wire so I can push them in without the wires bending around like I said I find it hard to get them straight in, solid core maybe

checked once more plugged in.. Flickr again..
I am going to take a break from this assemble she doesn't look as easy as the videos online . I started with the two middle cobs ran it all way around..
Seems to be power flickers looks like it's wired up wrong probably lose connection
From the wires hopefully least I know then..
I am going to do a Michelangelo onet and think

Solder the ends of your stranded wire, that should make it function like solid core wire and plug into the connectors easier.

I don't have a solder could I use solid core if I get some? It's quite difficult for me to get the wires into the little sockets I have a disability with my hands make it tough.
I tried again with connectors that came with package, I think of wired them up correctly, only one cob came on , which was connected to driver.. bright as hell nearly blinded me .
I didn't say videos of these connectors that i got
There is also three dimming wires that I taped off individually then taped to the side of driver, will get around to this when I get a switch.. I'm more than likely doing this wrong I'm sure something to do with the wiring as one is working.
Taking a break for the night
