Right on great info! I see ge makes them and sells them on ebay! But I guarantee they are all made in the same factory with just a different packaging. In your opinion which would be cooler temp wise 2 cmh 400w our one 600hps and which would be the better choice anD why?

2-400cmh, from what I have read, flowers grown under a c.m.h are more potent.

i would agree 2 cmh 400 would be ideal. my 10x12 bedroom stays at like 78 degrees with one open bulb i plan on running a second for my other vertical grow experiment and i dont plan on using any aditional a/c other than central air.

Oh I see you have central air that makes a huge differance! I was just going to run it without any ac so I wonder what my temps would be? Closet grow style with 6 inch intake from the bedroom to the closet and 6 inch exhaust from the closet to the bedroom basically just recirculating but where is an av unit in the living room even tho it doesn't do much anne cost a fortune to run!

well with the ac off all day it gets to like 82 with one ocilating fan. if you have air intake and exhaust you will be totally fine. my central gets it down to 74 in there sometimes

ok so today was the first feeding.

i fed them the recommended stuff for veg they were both at 7.0PH and .95-1.0 ec we will see how this turns out in the next day or two pictures will be loaded soon. i also learned a lot more about these Aptus nutes. they are NOT salt based additives so they WILL NOT cause nute burn or nute lockout. i am still processing everything i learned today so after a blunt or two i will try to put it in my own words, i dont like copy pasting information. i am very very excited about this test. also i found out about another aptus product designed for soil. they are time release pellets. you mix 75g-100g per plant given 1-5gallon pots they will be enough nutrients for the plant to veg and flower in a 3 month cycle being fed just plain water. one of the growers i have known for a while was testing this and said he had his plants go 1 month veg and 9 week flower never had on def., and leaves are still green he is chopping down anyday now. i am getting a KG of this to test on my outdoor run in a few weeks.

ok so i noticed this last night when i was feeding a small looked like mag def. which is not surprising since these have NEVER been fed until yesterday, and the soil is basically inert. anyway i should have fed a little sooner but whatever. after feeding last night i noticed very very slight tip burn on the HG plants considering its first feeding for them ever not too surprising. however the plants with aptus have no signs of burn yet and were fed same amount of base nutes. just something i was surprised about since that is one thing they were boasting with using their regulator product. i'll update with pictures tonight they are busing out nicely lots more growth since they are fed :)

also slight PM on a few leaves of the plants i am going to wait to treat until next friday when the fungone comes in from Aptus to give it a test it is a systematic fungicide and organic should be a nice test. i plan on flipping these in the next week or so since they are close to 4 ft. tall at this point

Awsome grow man. Glad to see u rescued those ladies. I just called 3 hydro shops in my area and neither of them carried them but two said they might be able to order them. Where did u get yours from? Im in the south bay (Socal) area. Im lookin for a phillips 400w that works with the mh ballast (I read that they just recently came out these).

Check out my mini grow up I just started in my sig. I also just found today that my friends gna be bringin by 4 good sized mothers (og, blackberry og and some other kind of og) for free cuz his buddy has to get rid of them. So I gotta make a decision because I already have 4 babys under the 400w and tthen max amount of plants I run under 400 is 4. So either gotta trash them or put em outdoors and I don't really wanna do either haha

ok here is an update

I am noticing a lot more foliage on the aptus plants. if i compare the branches and all the mini tops the 2 plants with aptus have a very noticeable more tops growing than the HG plants. also i am seeing a reduction in vertical growth in the aptus plants the HG plants seem to be an inch or two taller than the aptus plants. all the plants are showing signs of calcium and mag. def. i will add that tomorrow to all the plants equally. for clarification i will be using Botanicare Cal-mag i am very familiar with this since i use it in all my other grows its good stuff :) on a side note. Aptus has a cal mag treatment, but it says only to use it in flower during week 3 and 5 i believe. it seems they use it as a flowering boost of sorts.

anyway here are some pictures of the girls

Will they work on a digital hps ballast?
NO THEY WILL NOT WORK IN 99.9% OF DIGITAL BALLASTS!!!!

Also they come in 2 models vertical and horizontal.

The Skinny on Ceramic Metal Halide Lights

Here is where you get the bulbs:

Here is the ballast for it:

Note: It is recommended you run these lights in an open hood as you don't want anything to filter the UVB.
