I have been reading about these lights . There stuff looks to be pretty outstanding so I was hoping I could get some of the led junkies and geniuses to comment and help me not waste money or find gold . If you need anymore info please let me know ? Thanks RIUIMG_5013.PNGIMG_5014.PNGIMG_5015.PNGIMG_5016.PNGIMG_5017.PNGIMG_5018.PNG

The v1 did a great job from what I remember seeing videos of. Lighting Science makes their own line of LEDs so they probably use their own. It is one of few LEDs fixtures I'd consider buying. Backed by a real company with legit research and design.

I have seen 1 grow done with them and it was extremely good . Well over a gram per watt for sure and super dense . I just wondered what others thought before I took the plunge . Thank you for you input.

Am I missing something or did they not even mention the brand of LED's used?
I do not think they do . If you go to there website there is a lot more info . I just didn't want to post there site and be looking like I was working for there company promoting because all I really wanted was I put from others if there was any on how they were getting on with those lights

5 year warranty and the IP cert would seem someone put a lot of time and effort to make a legitimate company. And if their lights meet the requirements for rebates from power companies, then I can at least say you know you're not buying garbage, But I would research the claims to make sure they're legit.

How would you go about doing that ? I searched around. It cannot find to much. My buddy did a grow with them and he had some fire but also some bleaching on some tops ? Idk

Well bleaching could be from a lot of things but usually from being too close to the canopy you can't blame that on the light.

Does that really say ~40 lumens/watt? That's garbage.

Maybe I'm misreading. I'd defer to someone like Robin or Stephen who's actually more familiar with these tests. But if that's the bottom line, you'd be better off with HPS (or much better with a real LED).

Someone please correct me if I misinterpret the test results.

I know it isn't something ridiculously low so you have to be misreading something but I don't fully understand all there is led . Hence this thread

Perhaps. I'd like to be corrected by someone who is familiar with the results. When I divide the lumens (~24,000) by the power (~585 watts), that's about 40 something lumens/watt. Which is real, real bad.

Maybe there's some hidden calculation magic. But like you say, that would require someone like Robin or Stephen.

Definitely not claiming expert knowledge. I'm just trying to understand it.

Right, but that would make it equivalent to like 5 CFL bulbs LOL!!! Plus it states it's a direct replacement for a 1000w HPS, although we've heard that before it obviously means it's many times more than 24000 lumens. I could probably fart 24000 lumens on a good night with a match and a can of beans.

True enough! Appreciate the info. Not sure I'd personally want to grow under something that red, but you're right about the PAR vs lumens.
