WCM- Is the wellness connection of maine really about wellness??

I feel that most are just not as aware as they should be. I am also very curious about what the general public is feeling about this company.. a company that puts patients right to know behind the lure of the all mighty dollar. Any thoughts.. I so look forward to more progress in the state of Maine, where the people that are growing the right ways will be able to prosper.

I think you'll find their reputation here in the Maine section of RIU is not very favorable. What I thought about the Dispensary:
Boutique type atmosphere with overpriced product and clean floors: That was only what the public could see. In the grow room im sure it was a mite infested, toxic, insecticide covered mess.

Thanks for the reply.. I too was a patient just to see what the quality was like. They are putting so much into their plants that you can almost taste the neuts. The massive grow space is just what you thought.. Unfinished construction zones, people making due with what they have. Aphids, mold, and fungus gnats by the billions! My opinion as a novice grower was that they threw the basics right out the window.. They wanted the most poundage per plant instead of having the best quality strains in a clean safe grow space. If you have a pest or mold infestation you scratch that grow, clean from top to bottom, seal your grow space, then start over. I am 100% sure that the real issues this company got in trouble for, are still there. I know there are a lot of people supporting WCM out of convenience, those people need to open their eyes and realize there are far more reputable growers on the caregiver and dispensary sides, we should all be able to work together to help this industry, not set it back. Thanks again for your feedback!

I think the meds at WCM are excellent.

What strain did you try from them? Was it bud you purchased?
When i visited they had MOB, Chocolope, Jack H, and another one i cant remember .....

that's too bad. Do you like the taste of burnt bugs and over neuts too? This is just what i'm talking about, what you don't know won't hurt you, right?? WRONG! There are some great growers in Maine, WCM is not one of these places. The buds may look nice, but they are grown in a "far from medical" facility. If you enjoy paying for the unknown, then by all means continue your support.

I have never been to a dispensary so any information I have is just hearsay. But virtually all the hearsay I have heard about dispensaries is negative.
I think it is interesting that the state does not really address quality in the current law. Not much in the way of testing, oversight. I understand why the legislature wouldn't be keen to tackle that given the complexity and cost, but I expect it will change in the future.

Just to play devils advocate...

The main complaint I hear about dispensaries is price.

Some people buy the cheapest stuff, and expect the best quality. Stuff is priced different for a reason.

One person told me dispensary stuff is always dry, but that is better than moldy.

Rumor has it that most of the dispensaries buy from outside sources from time to time.

I suspect a lot of the time. And they aren't supposed to at all. If they can't keep up they ought to be able to procure product from registered caregivers, and I don't mean donations.

I see there is a lot of negatives out there on this, I say, go see for yourselves, rather than listening to a disgruntled employee. I have never found any mold or pests in any of my stuff.

How much are you paying?

One of my patient showed me a receipt for $15 per gram, with no discount for buying multiple grams.

I tried some. There was nothing wrong with it, other than the price. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad.

unless you put your meds under a scope before you use them you'll never notice the dead mites and mite shit all over it......

It is a fact that they used pesticides on their product when they were not supposed to. It is my opinion that their product is overpriced and of lesser quality than the bud I grow, and almost all homegrown I've sampled in the past. I did not purchase any product from them when i visited, but was given the opportunity to sample a friends MOB and chocolope. About the only thing I can say was done well was the trimming job.
If I wasn't lucky enough to grow my own I would certainly choose a caregiver over the dispensary; and thats a fact!

Some of their "high grade bud" is only sold in small quantities like grams. When I was there Jack H. Was the primo stuff.

The Legislature will be having floor votes about a bill that would allow caregivers to sell up to 2lbs per year to dispensaries. It would also lift the penalties for exceeding weight limits.

I'm no fan of WC, but the pesticide thing is way overblown, IMO.

Assuming you believe they did not use the Forbid that was found on premises, they used an organic pesticide (pyrethrins, which is not considered toxic in humans), plant oils, and biological controls. To be honest, i'm more worried about nute dyes i use than i am the substances WC used.

Nutrient dyes? Never thought too much about that. What it boils down to for me dealing with WC is what time in the plants life cycle the pesticides, fungicides were used. I'm sure during flowering just as much as veg, and that worries me. You can't wipe or wash pesticides off a sticky bud. I double dog dare you to tell all your patients you spray pesticides all over the buds you sell them. I'm sure it'll be great for business. Now, if you tell them you're worried more about the nutrient dyes they may look at you funny.
And of course this is only my opinion.

It should be 2 lbs a month. I can sell more than 2 lbs a year to a patient.
