1970's stoner dope head longing for the old days. What ever happened to the pure strains or classic marijuana strains?

Go to the Attitude and check out World of Seeds Landrace strains. The Real Seed Co at the Attitude has some good ones too. Most members recomend The Attitude, DrChronic, Seed Boutique, High Grade and Amsterdam Seedbank. I have used the first three and they have landrace strains like Colombian Gold, Brazil Amazonian and Wild Thailand! Check it out and order some up. Happy growing. Peace Out!

Thanks for the info Bubba Kushman.
I guess what I'm looking for is the different
cures and tastes... I mean green is green.
I miss brown and especially gold colored weed.
I like the heavy eyelids and the lead helmet effect.
When I smoke weed, I don't want to be bouncing
off the walls. Green is tasty, but over priced, over
rated, in my humble opinion.

I have also been told this... but there must be more to it, like fermentation of some kind???
I hope the old growers and harvesters of 1970's would share their knowledge.
So the past isn't lost to the future, this would be a shame in my book.

I grow Afghan and it's a real heavy hitter!!! It's also a very compact plant that flowers in 7 weeks, bonus. This will give you heavy eyelids and a lead helmet. Nice heavy smoke with a slight hashy taste. I got the seeds from the vancouver seed bank, the name of the seed company is jordan of the isle.

Thanks all for responding to my post; it makes me feel good that I'm not the only one who longs for old school weed...
Thanks ika667 for the info, I ordered Pakistan Valley Seeds Fem. and Afghani from the Attitude Seed Bank.
Bud2befree, I missed out on the panama red and acapulco gold, I'm only 49. Those buds were a legend when I was
going to school, Columbian weeds green, brown and gold is what I miss. We also had Thai Sticks, TNT, Hash, Hash oil, Honey oil, ect. I stuck to high grade Mexican weed most of my life until I became SB420 patient. Now I can get weed anytime I run low; delivered to my door like pizza, for a ungodly amount of money... Life is good!!!

Sub Zero,

These guys are right when they say Afghani. If you want some truly old School weed then you need some Afghani/Hindu Kush/Pot o' Gold/Flying Dutchmen.
Whatever they call it these days. It's the oldest strain known to man. And IMO the best. Truly good Kush tastes like sweet Hash. I prefer Kush x Skunk personally.

Dudes... you're missing my point, or most likely, I haven't explained myself very well?
All the weeds you suggest are all excellent strains of yesterday and they do what you say.
What I'm looking for is old school curing methods to turn those lovely green buds into a beautiful
golden color. The flavor and effects are changed for the better in my opinion. The THC is broken
down into other Cannabinoids. Maybe I'm just crazy???

On second thought, I don't miss old school pot, I miss old curing methods.
Wow, I just had a revelation after my 23rd bong hit of Purple Erkle and some
fresh local grown Fire Kush. Now I'm going to solve the World's economy....

If you seriously want an old school taste from old school methods, try drying your bud by hanging your plants whole in a barn full of hay. That's the way they did it in my dad's days.

in africa in some places they wrap herb in leaves and put it into the ground to cure im sure that changes cannabinoid profiles and flavors significantly never sampled though.

Maybe if you let the buds flower longer, say like 2-3 weeks past their normal time, they will turn more thc into cannabinoids. Also the buds will probably get darker and lose more of their green color and taste. Flushing longer throughout this time may help too. Just a thought. Proper drying and curing always helps with taste. Dont know much about gold and brown strains tho. GL
