obviously this is for indoor grows, but if you are able to, and want to do things REALLY cheap the 1st time round grow outdoors... total cost for me to grow 3 plants outdoor was 3 x 20L pots which we already had, 25L potting mix, 25L mushroom compost and 10L of homemade compost containing fish scraps etc... done this way it cost under $50 aud for approx 3-6 ounces of dry decent weed...

ive spent between 3-4k in the past 3 years. so i guess about a grand a year. i dont plan on making many more purchases for the next couple years, besides genetics, and nutes. oh and odor control. somehow im never content though. i always want bigger and better. so who knows really. maybe ill always be spending a grand a year. just remember you get what you pay for. every dime ive spent was totally worth it after a harvest or 2. oh by the way i forgot to mention my miserable fail of a first grow using miriclegrow and cfls. spent about 50 bucks probably. i have learned a lot since then. everyone has to start somewhere i guess but i was in way to much of a rush my first grow and i definatly couldnt aforrd to do it properly. im sure some will argue this but whatever. opinions are like assholes right?

Tea: 50 gallon drum *or anything really* water over it.. let it set... when i need some.. scoup it out with a cup.. and poor it on the base of the plant.. working good so far

I recycled, reused and improvised everything I could. Used bagseed. Bought the best soil and fertilizer I could get. Built a movable framework for lighting and used CFLs. I built my system for 2 plants but if I had the room, the cost would not have been much more. Total costs=$150
