What size room for 400 watt?

Hey man,
The size of your tent has nothing to do with how much your plants are going to produce.
I myself have a nice size tent,24wx47Lx 58H.
Even though you are starting out on a small scale you will always want to grow more and bigger plants in the future.
If I were you I would buy the bigger tent.
A 400 is good enough to get some nice plants and good yields.
I am using a 400 right now and always have.
I usually do smaller grows and my tent is always big enough with plenty of room to expand if I ever want to do a big grow in the future.
Bigger is always better and you shouldn't run into any issues as far as your plants growth and over all yield.
Those two things are more dependant on the amount of light, which you have plenty of,and the right nutes you feed the plant.
Don't spend money on what you don't need such as a higher wattage light.
The light you have is plenty.
I would consider the larger tent though, you will always need and want a larger grow area if you have the room to accomodate it.

I have a 600 in one of my 3'x3'. I've ran 25 plants in there before without any problem. Flower those clones right away. I think you'll be surprised at the quality of dank you get

I just bought another 400w for my 2ft x 4ft x 5ft tent so I can do a bigger grow in the near future.
I now have two 400w.
That is plenty of light for that size tent.
If you go with the bigger tent, more bang for your buck, you can always expand and add onto your grow later if you want to just like I just did.
peace

How can you in one post say 3x3 use 400w then say you are running two 400w in a 2x4? You do realize the 3x3 is more square foot, yes?

First of all mind your own business.
secondly,I never said I was running the other light,I just got it so that I can run it in the future and it fits in my 4 foot long tent just fine.
The tent is 5 feet high and 2 feet wide.
why are you concerning yourself with my post.
If you want to suggest something to this person and add your own opinion as to what you feel in your opinoin is the best thing for him to do then go ahead and do so then let that person make their own choice on what they would like to do.
In my opinion 400w is plenty of light if he wants to go with a 3 foot by 3 foot tent.
you have your own opinoin on what he should do but stay out of my post asshole.

lol wow, take a few steps back buddy. I was asking you a question. Anyone who read your post would interpret it the same.

I now have two 400w.
Interpretation: I'm using two 400w in a 2x4' tent. If you want people to understand you better, learn to English.

Also, when you calculate in height that's cubic feet. I said square feet, meaning length x width so 2x4= 8, 3x3= 9

If you can't understand that then I really have nothing else to say.

Grow shorties. Don't waste time Or space growing bushes that are only gonna make popcorn size buds. I flower mine 2 days out of the clone box. Shorter plants finish a little faster and without all the fan leaves and side branches there's more light for them. Result IMO bigger buds. I've been doing shorties last 3 runs. Short plants, big buds.
I do 5 gal plants veg under 400 to make bushes u should read up on lollipoping, lst and super cropping

You interpreted that way since you think you're a know it all.
I've read quite a few posts of yours and have seen your grows which are impressive, however please stay off my posts and give your opinion to the subject at hand.
I really don't care about square footage, you brought it up.
I was telling him that all he really needs is the same size tent that I'm using and that is plenty of room for his small grow and a bigger grow in the future and my tent is longer so I can fit two 400w in there long ways for more light per amount of plants.

its all about 2 600w in a 4x4. I would also go with a 600w for a 3x3... If all you have is a 400w then 2x4x5 sounds pretty nice for 3 plants in 5 gallon smart pots.

I can fit three times more plants then that in 3 gallon smart pots which is what I use for my plants.
I have laid out that many empty pots in the tent and they would fit with plenty of room still left over.
The light reflects very well throughout the entire tent.
Your plants do not have to be directly under the light to get good growth and yield.

Id buy a tent a little larger than you need for the 400w. As most growers have probably experienced, a handful of grows down the line and you will want to be upgrading :D

Hey dude, thanks for posting what I have already told him.
Please go back and read past postings for this thread and try giving a different opinion as to what someone else has already posted.

Um. No?

Why would i change my opinion just because someone else has posted something similar? That makes absolutely no sense.

Read his other posts in this thread, he clearly likes to start arguments and thinks everyone should only listen to him.
