A whole new world. The end of prohibition in our lifetime. Never thought I'd see it. No one going to jail for possession or smoking a joint. Jobs being created. Police resources being used for more serous crimes.

Fucking eh, dawg!

Don't count on it, they are going to make pot smoking drivers their new ATM. I'm with you on finally seeing an end to prohibition as we know it, unfortunately the Liberal version of legalization is so far off of reality and full of constitution-bending legislation that it is doomed to fail. It's a big first step, and we'll get there eventually, but the war ain't over.

I'll be amazed if it's done by then and the cops will be busier than ever busting people for smoking it in public, catching people growing more than the 4 plants they are allowed or measuring heights for compliance and making sure that people got their pot from "approved" sources.

Still be 20 years before pot is really free and the cops, lawyers and courts will be busy sorting it out 'til then.

Well, at least we can all agree it's a big step in the right direction, that's a cause for celebration.

This crazy plant had brought together so many different people from different walks of life, and will continue to do so, it will be really cool to finally see everyone getting uplifted together and the friendships born of it.

I think that's what I look forward to most. A bunch of different people who wouldn't normally associate seeing each other getting lifted and the social barriers crumbling away, even if it's just a little. It's a proper joy to see.

And all because of a little plant.

I think a 4 plant count sucks but it's better then 0. They should increase that number for the people who just grow regular non feminized seeds.

no legalization is gonna happen the way it should .

Yes. We know the legalization attempt is gonna be an epic fail and will evolve over time - most likely under court orders. We have already been told the plan involves 4 plants pp, that isn't going away. Also they will have no choice but to license smaller 'craft' growers to meet demand if they want to compete with the BM.

While I'm all for ending basic prohibition like getting busted for a joint like my son did a couple of times. The fact is, the current legislation is more of a change in status or prohibition 2. We'll take what we can get, it's better than what we have today. But don't be lulled into thinking that we will not be persecuted or the fight for true legalization is over as of July 1st, 2018. Driving laws are just one example, the right to grow is not written in stone either like many are thinking. There is opposition already and even if it's passed at the federal level, provinces will opt out of it, it'll depend which province you live in how that 4 plant count plays out. I am excited to have the potential to grow some outdoor in my back yard without having to worry about stealth, just hope the Ontario government doesn't f'up that opportunity.

mmm..then we get one thats even worse on cannabis..but hopefully not an sjw
anti free speech turn coat like who we ended up with now

you either have "free speech" or you don't..[we don't]
Always a gamble for sure, CONs are never in my voting plans but NDP's have a chance if they step up their game. Libs are typically my go to federally but provincially in Ontario we've had some of the worst parties/leaders ever #$%!

And I say it won't...everything we have been told so far says 4 plants for rec. Unless you've seen something from government that says otherwise, I'll stick to my version. The original plan was for no home grows until they realized they couldn't bend the Charter that far without breaking it, so they throw a bone with a lousy 4 plants. What possible reason are they going to give to flip flop now? Everyone and their grandma will be able to grow by July 2018.
