hey nick your out west? im from NyC and the reggae shows are dangerous for white boys in these parts
yeah im in cali... the reggae scene out here is all about positivity and consciousness. you need to hook up with some rastas and they will get you in....look into more roots and rasta shows. the dancehall scene can get kinda rough in some ghettos:blsmoke:

yea my side is too uptight, as for out west, the closest ive come is vegas, and the the cali crowd is real easy going and cheeeeeel, nice weather, good ganja and big blondes, no wonder you guys are so relaxed. over here we pay top dollar for living in the arm-pit of the world, i swear its filthy here and im sick of this city

lol morrisgreen.. those soundclashes can get a little scary for us whiteboys. my rasta friends would say "no worries, no worries", but in the back of my head i would be looking for escape routes!!! i have seen a few roots show in the city that were pretty chill though.

i saw david rodigan im queens one time. that show was of the hook, but their were some serious boys there. also saw ricky trooper and mighty crown. i miss the old days

I love reggae, some of my favorite acts are Steel Pulse (always a great show no doubt... last time i smoked out in their tour bus with my buddies highlight of my life), Burning Spear, Augustus Pablo (good chill background music for almost any occassion... except maybe sports) Delroy Wilson (some good roots/old-school reggae/ska) the whole Marley family (though I think ziggy is the only one whos truly talented like his dad) Innocent Uprising (local), Roots down Below (local), King Tubby (good dub), 311 and sublime (ska/punk/funk/hiphop/holyshit)

thats just a few, i just woke up 5 minutes ago so i might come back with a proper list with descriptions, because i do have a nice collection i'd like to share with you all :stoned:

Yeah new england/new york is terribly overpriced.. maybe thats why the people are so uptight. I grew up in the midwest (KC) and i've lived up here since 06 and its still kind of hard to adjust to.. there are chill people, but theres probably 20 uptight people to every chill person.

you should check out the reggae scene in MA and RI... theres usually at least 1 good reggae show a month up in providence.. and 311 and Ziggy Marley are coming to Mansfield in June... which is no doubt going to be the highlight of my summer (besides Wakarusa... i guess the mini highlight :) )
