I am not a MG hater and I have seen a lot of great grows using MG, that being said,,,,,,,

it is not the best soil and properly using it requires a bit of knowledge and skill

So I advise new growers to avoid it,

if possible and that advise is not against MG but rather to give them as much of an edge as is possible to get a solid grow under thier belt

Folks not understanding or not properly using nutes will have more problems in MG, I see it all the time

and my advise is based on that and that alone

MG is great for green leafy veggy. IMO was never designed for MM... its N heavy. I agree with Riddleme in saying don't use it unless you know what it is and understand what it provides to your plants. You should start with neutral mediums when newbie.

If anyone can help...I'd be thankful.
I am having some RF interference from my 400W ballast to the light. It is causing my continuous TDS sensor in my 10 gallon DWC to go crazy. Lumatek says their products are RF shielded and mine is the latest one (purple). I doubt it is the yield master II reflector as it is specifically made for HID's. My area is 3' x 3' x 4' and stealth is paramount so moving something outside that area aint gonna happen. Anyone know of some RF shielding material or what I should do? I saw this product: http://www.mgchemicals.com/products/841.html. Think it will work?
sounds like you got line noise. I am assuming one 120v circiut is feeding both. Trying to clear that up might be a bitch. It could be anything in the house causing it. But is most likely your ballast. If moving the tds away from the light say 3 or 4 feet does not clear it up then it is line noise. not bleed over. using a extension cord move the tds out the grow room and see if it works. If it does you can get shielded cable to fix the bleed over. the shield wire should only be grounded on one end. if moving the tds does not make it work then a small isolation transformer will def. clean the tds up.or a new ballast that doesn't have that much noise.

Man we really fucked up, sure hope it can be fixed. We have 3 - 5' tall ladies growing that are in their 5th week of the 12/12 stage. We discovered today that for 6 days the light cycle was interrupted with 100 watts of light getting into the grow room 24 hours a day. Before we kill ourselves we're thinking of leaving them in darkness for 24-36 hours and then starting the 12/12 light cycle again. What would you suggest to correct the problem if possible?
Thanks!

I think that it is up to you to decide when to harvest based on your own personal preferences not what others say, at this point you should be testing the smoke a bit to see how the high is and your deciding to harvest should be based on that

as for the white flower thing I agree it "could" be a mutant but everything else I see in your pic's is classic light bleaching, your light is way to close

and superthrive is not a good thing definately could have helped with the mutation part, your lucky it did not kill em

Proper thing to do is to get em back on schedule and not let it happen again

and check everyday for possible hermies

We live and we learn, why it's called experience

I have an Abusive clone from the local pharmacy... growing about 6-7 weeks in rock wool. It looks good and has been growing well... but suddenly it's switched from a 5 leaf to a 3 prong leaf. Is that bad? Why the sudden change?

It's a weak set up.... this is just for fun.. not getting too crazy with the whole thing, but am interested to hear why the leaves would change.

And thanks for any answers, I've been searching on here, but am having a hard time finding this topic.

my plants have a mixture of both 3 and 5 pointed leaves. It seems the smaller 2 points just didnt grow well on the 3 pointed ones.

Thanks Blazed, I didn't expect such a quick reply!! So I guess I'm not going to worry about it. It's nice and green with new growth daily, so we'll just see how it goes.

To tall maybe to close together ?

Need help 40 views and no comments i guess everbody is as puzzled as i am. Ive posted this in two threads and only 2 replies in one forum.

I am a newbie this is my third grow. I am having a problem with height. Growing these strains; Master Kush (nirvana) Fruity Juicy Chronic(Delicious Seeds) Kali(Big Bhudda)
Growing in 2 systems 1) DWC Bubbler 18 gal (6) 3.75" net cups with Canna Nutes.
2) Areoponic/NFT (Stinkbud/GH Copy) (9) 2" net cups 3 per tube with Botanicare Organic Nutes. Started 5 of each in paper towels at 80 F all popped in 48 hrs with good root showing, Put into Rapid rooters in prop tray under humid dome under 125 Watt fluro for 5 days. Put into bubbler and areo under (2) 400 watt metal halide with 6" cooltubes one on each 18/6. Lights kept at 3-5" no burn to plants. Kept lights as close as possible without burn , tons of light and room ventilation. After 21 days under Halides the girls (Feminized seeds) were between 16 - 21". At total age of 26 days from pop put in the HPS bulbs switched to 12/12 and flowering nutes. Now after 14 days of 12/12 they are all showing sex(female) the tallest one a kush is 32" and the smallest Kali is 28 ". The Kush is supposed to finish according to nirvana at 21 - 24". But the way things are going its gonna be more like 60 - 64 " by finish. So here we go i dont think it is due to not enough light or light to far away from top of canopy, these are not sativa or sativa dominant. My best guess is i planted to close together getting greedy trying to crowd to many in each unit, not enough spread between plants so they couldnt grow out to the sides so they grew up instead. I am puzzled i am trying to learn how to do this right. I am thinking in hindsight should have started flower at 12" but they would have only have been vegging for about two weeks or less is this to little vegging time ? How much space (circle around main stem ) do they need, my instinct now tells me they should of had 8 -12" around each plant am i right or wrong. I am sure some of you old pros have seen or dealt with this issue before i am trying to learn how to do it right so i can pass it forward. Any suggestions ,comments or schooling would be appreciated.
I dont really want to bend em and tye down as have had bad results in last grow

Prolly only got 2 answers cause you answered your own question,,

All about planning your garden, and understanding that they get 3 times bigger when ya flip em

Your choices are to cut/top em, tie em down or raise the lights

and MJ left to grow normally wants a minimum of 1.5 feet between pots

Plant makes the leaves it needs in reaction to the enviroment, there is nothing predictable about it and it is not a problem

Exactly why I don't grow outdoors, I'm a control freak

You can either let them get bigger and finish naturally or you can cover them with something that is opaque (doesn't pass light)and light colored (to reflect heat) which can be a huge pain

dont they grow larger when put into the flowering stage? its going to be a pain in the ass finding somthing tall enough to cover each plant.

yeppers, other option would be to move em into a shed or something every day, but either way huge pain best option is let mother nature take her course

actually i do have a shed but it has a window plus way too much shit packed in there. but would be awsome since it has a locking door. also i have a closet in my room thats pitch black and gets extremely cold in the winter (that meaning it will be around the same temp as the outdoors when i start flowering) so im hoping that might work.

Saved a sigular seed (the only one) from a nice pungent smelly.
Planted it in short 7" wide pot in multipurpose/seedling compost on a very bright Southish facing window sill in early April.
Germinated over around three days.
Water fed for 14 days.
Moved on to a large (10") pot with multipurpose/seedling compost roots appeared to be forming well, plentiful and healthy.
fed a 1/4 streangth dose of tomatoe food (NPK 2-2-6)
i have an alternative of (3.5-3.5-3.5) not really sure which is best for which stage ?????
also worth mentioning, three other Ganja plants of a different strain are in the same vasinity, i am aware that as soon as plants are old enough to sex, males should be removed.
plants are currently getting around 13.5 daylight hours.
. any hints n tip greatly appreciated

Grow journals are your friend, find a few that grow in a similar style and follow them, you will learn tons
