You guys have your head up your asses? Regan never had a balanced budget, the only president that has since Lyndon Johnson was a Left wing Clinton.

Who had taxes at the same level we have now.
We're talking TAX REVENUES and you equate that with balanced budgets...... Like I said, take an Economics course.... and that's no joke.

I asked in another thread, but Ill ask again here. Do you even know what a balanced budget entails?

Hmmm. You sound GREEDY.
That's the LAST trait people would assign to me. I give quite a bit of money to many different charitable groups and run two groups myself. One provides sustainable sources of water to bucolics in El Salvador and the other provides school necessities to impoverished areas in Guatemala. I give a LOT of money and time to both these groups.

I have my faults, I will admit, but greed is NOT one of them. The only reason I make money in the markets is because I don't really care that much about losing. Money is money. I have what I need and don't care about hoarding.

Definitely on the right here but no exactly Republican (voted Bob Barr on last election) so I guess I fall into the Libertarian-less-government slot. I once heard a qoute that sums it up for me.."At 20 years old and you are a conservative you have no heart, at 40 years old and are a liberal you have no brain".

Winston Churchill said something very close to it.
If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.
Who said, 'I smell gopher poontang."?

You can't understand the question. How can I provide an answer. You think a balanced budget is the same as tax revenues.

I'm wondering. Do you righties have the balls to fess up, and how about you lefties. I'm guessing the lefties have no Balls since everything posted on this site screams right wing idiocy. Don't try and tell me it makes no difference, it is a world of difference. Just admit it, this site has been taken over by a bunch of right wing extremists.
Be glad there are a bunch of right-wingers on this forum. The left won't be in power long with the Obama admin calling the shots.

I used to be depressed that my views were in lock-step with the right-wing yet their view on weed was no where near mine.

I really enjoy coming here and seeing other right-wing people who are advocates for legalization voicing their opinion.

I thought I was alone for a long time.

You've got that right! I haven't seen such a dense concentration of right wing extremists since I lived in the backwoods of southern Indiana as a kid. However, having a plethora of ideas is nice. I respect arguments from all spectrums (even the socialists ;-)!

I am not saying they are the same. I asked you "Do you know what a balanced budget entails".

It is relevant to the conversation. So do you?

Yes, Han, of course I know what a balanced budget is...

What is MORE important is the GDP in relation to the budget, regardless of spending. Kapish?????

JRH....that's what is wrong with the Obama administration. They know what the right thing to do is in regards to the economy. They simply refuse to do it. They would rather use a "crisis" to mass power to the Fed's. That's not a salient platform for the health of the nation. I of course am not surprised. We elected the most liberal politician ever....and it shows in the solutions....there aren't any.

I beg to differ. Hell, even if ameliorates our economy and improves the general health of the nation, you won't give him any credit because he's a democrat. You won't give ANY democrat a single shred of credit for ANYTHING. You are simple as night and day. A puppet could take your place and we wouldn't even notice - "republican is good. democrat id bad. blah. blah. blah."

Get over it.

Democrats haven't done much to be worthy about in my opinion. The Great society was a failure. Spending future generations money is a policy of failure. Balancing the budget by gutting the military is a recipe for failure. Thinking appeasement is a deterrent to dictators is a policy of failure...... what else?

I can name Republican failures too, but at least they come to their senses now and again. The Dem's have been off the rail for 40 years. The modern day democrat Party has nothing in common with it's past. Kennedy, Truman, ...all would be Republicans today. As Reagan famously and accurately said once.... "I didn't leave the democratic party, it left me". So true....so true. It's even worse today, and that's saying something.
