...with LEDs made in China.

It's not really about where a product is made, it's about mfg orienting on quality or low price. You can get quality product from China if you're not pursuing the lowest possible price.
good point! I didn't say all companies use the cheap china LEDs but there are definitely better options in buying from china if you research products and also remember that you pay for what you get. doesn't mean you should pay $1000 for a LED that you can get one for $200 from china thats 8/10 chances equivalent. If I get 1 year out of my $200 LED its cheaper to buy one every year verses $1000 every 3 years. plus You might get lucky and get 2-3 years out of one of the $200 LEDs that is the goal! saving money right!?:bigjoint:

I disagree with it being a good starting point.
If two panels cost the same/PAR W, one has quality chips and the other generic, you know which to recommend. 99% of the LED lamps in the market are overpriced cheap generic lamps. The only way they would ever be worth considering is if they were phenomenally cheap/PAR W (like HPS). Hence a great starting point.

I got an LED, generic as heck and it's about 5 years old and works like new. The other is from the same people that started "Mars" and it works great too. About 3 years old. Just guessing but both have 1000's of hours on them. And they do grow well. Probably not better than more advanced systems like I see in others pics. But, they work just fine.

I bought a 150 HPS this year. Haven't really had a chance to use it and determine if it's better. I would say maybe to probably.

So your opinion, which is shared by quite a few others, is that most LED lamps sold today are "cheap".

Ok, so we agree that the $/PAR W figure is a point to consider when deciding what panel, out of the "cheap" bunch, to possibly purchase.

I'm just gonna leave it at that amigo (:.

It kinda looks like he had a seizure.
I don't even know what's going on with those two... so random...
