Why do ALL the LED grows look so lame compared to HID?

So are you getting over 1.5g/w with a strictly DIY LED setup or not? Perfomrmance is what shatter when you are saying that it is blowing it away. Cost ties into that but yield is what matters. Supra was one I was referring to when I said the great DIY'ers but I also know he runs a 600hps in there somewhere too. Like he just clarified. But there are others who have show some great grows, but not every DIY is a success is what I said...not that they are hard.

I have learned it all in theory too and know exactly how I would do my own and have it sourced already. I have the wiring schematics and everything. But I have an arsenal of AT's so there is no point for me to invest more for space that I already have great performing lights for.

And there is a big difference when you open up a apache panel. There is not one component that is not basically a top of the line component. Chip, drivers, housing, heat sink, fans, connections, lenses. Not to say you can't get all of that with a DIY but the cost savings to replicate for cheaper is not actually there.
Using your own design is something different but still comes back to my 1st question...are you getting over 1.5g/w or close to that with a strictly DIY led setup?

Im not claiming to be one of the great diy'er. Never claimed to blow away anyone. Was just replying to the statement diyers spend so much time and money they should go commercial. Just like sharing yo. 1.5?? I'm not a cash cropper nor do I have access to elites that yield. The yielders I have come across haven't had the quality and get tossed. As far as the lights being the same I was referring to the wiring and general connections that need to be made.

Apaches are alright. Personally I'd never buy one. I find their prices kinda ridiculous to be honest.

Smartest companies realized the tech is moving faster then they can keep up. Enter makers DIY kit, rapids kit, reef led kit.....or even lights that can have modules upgraded.

yeah really. an ibl indica will take 2-3 times longer to veg than most strains. if its too hot or too cold plants won't grow for shit.. if theres no air flow. all kinds of problems can arise.
I guess you haven't ran out of excuses yet..........a month of veg w a 1000 you should be able to fill a screen w one.......

what excuses......???? I'm being realistic.. Not everybody's environment is the same. Not everybody's climate is the same. Not everyone grows the same strain. Not everyone has the same space or same lights or same fans or even have a/c.... Compare outdoor flowering in the cold winter to the warm fall... big difference in color and bud size.. Or in late spring when its very hot in some places and cooler in others...

Not everybody can b.s. like you guys, me and green genes and a few others asked jbone about his plants and to post pics and he doesn't really reply to those questions. he just continues to create more drama or make excuses..

a pound w a 600 or a 1000 in a 4x4 w 4 plants and a month of veg isn't bs..........its something even you could do

I kind of dislike this thread, but what the hell, here goes nothing:

Intensity

I don't recall seeing anyone running leds at 50+W/sqft. Let alone top bin DIY driven softly.

Scale

Most of the led grows you see are on micro level, small plants = small buds

Efficacy

Almost all grows posted are done with bought cheap panels and that usually means they are not even as efficient as HPS at producing light. Not even the expensive ones beat hps in efficacy (A51 etc). What makes it interesting, that you still see an occasional 1gpw or + grow with china panels that are under 30% efficient.

Skill of the grower

Skill takes time to develop, most of guys with years and years of growing experience run HID's and bigger ops with financial interest going on. Just the opposite with leds, mostly newbs or just small scale head stash growers = yield isn't necessarily top priority.

Most of led grows are affected by at least one of the above and likely multiple handicaps, so a direct comparison is pretty pointless.

Show me someone with experience running 600W+ worth of 40+% efficient leds at 50+W/sqft and let me know if the results arent comparable to HPS. Just sayin, comparing fruits' n' berries.

What is the point arguing about "how bad LED's are" to those who like them and vice versa wahts the point of arguing "why they are good" to people who dont like them.

Youre all wasting your time and clearly you all arent growing that well because if you were then you would all be too stoned to give a sh*t about petty internet arguments.

Have a spliff and chill out children
