yes, that too...

Kaleo.... we are only talking about 100 million tons. Sounds like a lot but it isn't. Won't affect the moon in any way what so ever.... a drop in the moon bucket so to speak.... 400 years of PURE CLEAN energy for us.

Bush gave us a chance to truly free ourselves from OIL! So F the steroetypes of him.... that's a LEADER folks.

Obama is clearly NOT a leader. Just another welfare President.

The Moon is a wealthy treasure trove of matter. It's rich in h2o, titanium, aluminum, iron, oxygen, silicone, magnesium...ect. Since the moon has no atmosphere, it is also a perfect launching pad and space port for future human endeavors into space (little to no atmosphere makes rocket powered engines easier to launch...ie less resistance).

As my favorite scientist and cannabis smoker, Carl Sagan would say, "All civilizations become either spacefaring or extinct." It is in our best interest as a technological species to and a necessity to move beyond our small blue planet. Why put all your eggs into one basket?

It has become crucial to understand in our time that we are not alone in the universe. Thanks to the drake equation, we can understand how much life might be in our own galaxy. Civilizations that have grown and matured for millions of years past ourselves would have discovered, like us, the fundamental laws of our universe. Space travel is possible in more then one way. I am convinced that not only our planet, but the planets and moons around us have been visited many times over their lives.

The Brookings report was gathered and written in 1961 by the famous Brooking Institute. In this few hundred page document there were many interesting pages of information. It talked about not if space travel was possible, but confirmed the number of ways that it could be done. The document also goes on to state the social impact of visitors on our planet and the psychological effects that man would go through (riots, losing religion...ect)
The document goes on to state that we, as humans, would most likely find remnants of past visitors all around us in the form of archeological evidence.

First and foremost, NASA is a defense agency not an exploratory science wing of the government. The Government, like the FBI and CIA hold stock in NASA, as it's sole purpose is space fairing defense and military tactical fighting and re-con.
If you have ever been to their website, they post many amazing pictures. Some of these pictures have strange anomalies not associated with natural occurrences. Many pictures have been "scrubbed" for our, the publics, viewing pleasure. There are some anomalies that make no sense at all.

Buzz Aldrin goes on the say that we must visit the giant monolith on Mars' moon phobos. It is a giant rectangular block that sticks out miles high above the moons surface and can be pictured here: http://montrealradioguy.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/aa62d35bc151.jpg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDIXvpjnRws

Many of these anomalies exist all over our solar system. Politicians, military officials, scientists, all know about them. Nasa used to hold meetings and seminars on archeological evidence back in the early 90's. The Godfather of rocketry, Wernher von Braun, was a firm believer on the subject and stayed that was until his death. Jimmy Carter goes on record saying he too has seen craft of unknown origin. Basically every Nasa Astronaut knows about it because they see them often during their space missions.

There is a reason why Nasa scrubs their images before they reach the public. The only known reason for this is either because they are doing something there, or they are covering up something they don't want us to see...archeological evidence of non human intellect.

Every brilliant mind knows how important it is to get off this planet and travel outward to the great unknown. Canceling important missions for the further understanding of our close environment is a direct assault on the learning and procreation of other planetary bodies and our understanding of space. It is an oxymoron and Sagan, a firm believer in life outside our solar system would be disappointed.

Well said.... I actually personally find this to be almost a CRIMINAL act on the part of Obama and the environmentalists... It is THEY who would lose power.

So they sacrifice innovation and energy freedom, so they can CONTROL us.

The Chinese will get there..... and then we will all see if they will share it. I think that answer is OBVIOUS.

Obama has FAILED this country in so many ways, but this hidden story may be the biggest hit on the entire planet.

I have always agreed with you, until this...

Obama is an awesome president. He scrapped the program because there are more important issues than spreading our parasitic damage further out into the galaxy.

A "Welfare President"?

WOW.

Bush was a puppet and even the GOP fans admit that.

Everyone is mad because obama is using aggressive effort to get shit DONE.

Why do we know about our galaxy? Because some body got off their FAT ASS, and TRIED something. Obama isn't claiming this will be the SHIT, he's saying that Health Care in America is a fucking joke and it needs to change NOW. Not next yuear or 2015...NOW!

When the vise president robbed the country and put military personnel at risk, Bushy didn't do shit. Fuck that okee doke red neck.

C'mon CJ, If we can see past the illusions of religion, surely we can see past Conservative Curtains. Right?

And like the Title says, I respect you for your intelligence so let's "Keep it legal" so to speak.

saying only 100 million tons is like saying we only need to kill 100,000 babies to please the sun god. arent space rocks less dense therefore would "weigh less" meaning you need more space rock to to achieve a ton than earth rock. then you say china will want its share, too well thats fine, theyll only need another 100 million tons. then russia will want some moon rocks and so will every other country when were going through oil withdrawals. i just have this fear that the world wont behave the same if we take say a fifteenth of the moons mass

Yes the moon is rich in Tritium. It is a powerful fuel. It is not however, exclusive to the moon. Is is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen. Hydrogen is the most abundant atom in the universe. We can make tritium here from h2o and is being used commercially now. It is the product that makes your watch glow.

If so.... then why was it Bush (the evil oil friend) to propose the COMMERCIAL adventure of the Constellation program?

I think big Oil sees this as an OPPORTUNITY.

What Obama & his environmental posse does NOT want is for the planet to have no energy worries.

H-3 is totally unique and does NOT exist on earth. A radioactive free isotope which will produce 100% clean energy for the ENTIRE planet for at least 400 years.

it's not big oil which doesn't want this.... it's the environmentalists...now if that is not a big heaping bucket of hypocrisy, I don't know what is.

It's a HUGE loss for the ENTIRE planet..... all thanks to Obama!!!!

And NOW you know why the CHINESE are so intent on getting to the moon themselves. Obama has ceded it to them and sold out the USA ... again.

The biggest story you never heard of.... it's HUGE.

Obama continues to keep expanding his reputation of being inexperienced or hateful (take your pick)

edit: yes kaleo is correct (now that it has been given up)...but I know Robert knows.... so he still wins..
the country and entire PLANET LOSES!!!!
Ahhhh! A Conspiracy! Makes sense now (Kinda).

Actually we have yet to use fusion to make more power than it consumes. Helium3 is theoretically used in one of the fusion variants. So it doesn't matter where it is....we can't use it.

As far as Helium3 not existing on earth: Wrong! It occurs naturally in the earths mantle And atmosphere. Aside from that Helium3 is a natural product of the decay of tritium. So even if it wasn't naturally occuring on earth we could make it ourselves (and we DO!, but in small quantities)

As far as the moon being some huge source of Helium3: It has a higher concentration, yes, but mining/processing it would take much more than just getting there (to the moon). Equipment, storage and transport back home are all issues that haven't even been considered.

Summary: You're full of shit. dukeofbaja was right!

1st off bush is a fucking oil man so if you really think that he is going to put money into something that will cut his main source of money out your really smoking some good shit...i dont like to get into politics but for those that dont like Obama ppl will find everything to blame on him and make it a big fucking deal...it is a waste of money period specially for a country thats broke out there ass...

I'm sorry but the cost of the program is a DROP in the bucket to what he is spending now. No dice there.

Obama would again, have us look INWARD. We need to be looking OUTWARD!

This is a HUGE step forward, and by knowingly killing it....Obama has condemned us to energy and environmental political control.

That is why he did it.

Obama isn't about improving the lot of the country, he is all about CONTROLLING the lot of the country. It's criminal!

Ur not serious so I'll just laugh. 100 million tons is nothing.... nothing at all to the Moon.

So sad!?

Fuck the moon, cannabis can supply us all the clean energy we'll ever need.

Truelly the emporer wears no clothes!
Hey CJ, you've got the answer in your pipe, brother.

By scrapping the program, we must focus on RESPONSIBLE options.

And what will happen when we fuck with the moon? How far will it go...And transporting oil from the moon will be cheap...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

When you shay it like thish, it shounds even better! Hey guysh, letsh go to the moon and drill it, exshtract oil, and pipe it down here for ush to ushe! We can shtart a ashtronaut program for Dusht dogs (Oil rig workersh) and shend them up to the moon. OR, we could take trained ashtronauts and tell them they need to learn how to drill oil to keep their jobsh! MAXSHIMUM AWESHOMENESS!

i am serious, read my edit. im sure we could take 100 mil easily, just a scratch right? well what about when all the other foreign superpowers want their stake of moon rocks? what do we do when it takes so much power and resources to harvest and transfer the rocks into usable fuel that it really only gives us 100, 150 years of fuel? what do we do then

we need renewable resources, not to find the next oil.

ive made this analogy before but here i go changing it. so imagine the USA is a junkie and oil is heroin. first off that junkie will do anything to ensure his next fix. when all of the heroin is gone from the planet he will go to the moon in search of crystal meth

I may be wrong, but I believe CJ is referring to mass, not weight. Weight is relative to gravitational force, which differs. So we use mass.

yeah thats why i put "weigh less" in parenthesis using weight as a term i and others may be more used to. just imagine i had put my two fingers in the air and said "la-zer" haha

i was also wondering, would we be harvesting moon gravity tons or earth gravity tons??

Yes exactly.... it is not a significant amount at all. What we get in return is an UNBELIEVABLE amount of COMPLETELY CLEAN ENERGY!!!

But not now.... and Obama KNOWS this. It is despicable and a crime against the planet.

No politics here...just plain COMMON SENSE! Forget what party Obama belongs to for a moment. Forget what party Bush belongs to.....

Which one did the RIGHT thing!!!??? The answer is OBVIOUS!!

Which one sold the entire PLANET out!!! That answer is also OBVIOUS!!!

BUSH FUCKED UP! He wasted money on a police action...OH SORRY, war phhh, and was a puppet to his cabinet. He smashed the economy into the dust and ran with stolen money. YA, Nice guy. Can YOU see the obvious?

So you are suggesting we process the oil on the moon and eject the residuum into space? Can't be...I must not understand your argument...How is it completely clean?
