Why would anyone use an AeroGarden to grow pot?

You are thinking of the aerogarden sold for hurbs in the kitchen. That is basically a DWC system. Here areoponics is a constant spray of water over roots. And can be as deep as you build it.

Yeah, I'm familiar with Aeroponics. I'm mostly just confused about the people discussing literally using those chincy AeroGardens to grow pot.

They do make a larger system that can grow to 2 feet but it's allmost $200 bucks. I think it's a waste but to them maybe not. Shit a 20L tray I airstone/pump and a small T5 would be cheeper and better. But you never know. Maybe mom got one and didn't like it. So the kid took it out of the trash and is useing it. Basically it was free. For free I'll try anything lol.

My friend had one so i barrowed it and used it as a mess around thing while i had mny going, just to see what the benefits were. Well it grew vegged monsters in less time. Had i been able to keep the machine i would have kept growing in there as well as the normal way. But i wouldnt buy one for full price

Im currently using an Aerogarden Extra.
Very "user friendly." Great for learning basics. I harvested once with an AG3, didnt get as much as Id like so I got the Extra as a gift and Im much happier. Not ready for harvest yet, But already looks like more than the AG3.
Made a few modifications, ie: more light, airpump and airstone, better nutes, timer, and a fan.

Here she is...I started seed on 8/12

1 - AeroGardens have a built in timer for the lights. You can get a cord to plug it into the wall or w/e and use your own timer for the lights.
2 - They use only 1 plug.
3 - A pack of lights for them only cost around $20 then tax witch is good since most 26w lights cost around $12 each.
4 - They have a built in thing that flashes when its time to add more nutes witch is very nice.
5 - They have built in air pump witch meens you can have it any where in your house.

All in all its simple and you can use it just about anywhere.

Hal: it's a great learning platform for someone who doesn't know anything about hydroponics. It's a complete, compact, active hydroponics growing system and if you can follow their directions it's very forgiving. To grow a couple of great little plants all you have to do is to add an aquarium air pump and stone. If you buy the 'right seven holes model' it'll even have the right light schedule pre-programmed into the computer.
There are a few don'ts involved too:
1. Don't waste you time and money on the AG-3 or the Space Saver AG-6 models.
2. Use good nutes. A/G are great for basil and oregano but they leave a lot to be desired when it come to growing what we like.
The down side is that they're not cheap but they're really fun to grow with.

The problem with the 7 pod systems is that they have a water pump inside so if that goes either you buy a new one or change it into a DWC. The other problem is that their water pumps have a filter in them so you have to replace them. If you can get one that is a DWC then I would get that. The other cool part is that if you moved on from the AeroGarden you can grow flowers or food in them so they aren't a complete waist if you use them after you moved on. Most AeroGardens cost around $150 to $200 witch isn't to bad since I did some math and a personal DWC system setup could cost almost $150+.
