Will moving plants in direct sun light for a day help?

If you have plants growing indoor under CFL's at room temp, and you move them outside for a day in direct sunlight at 60 degrees(probably hotter since the sun will give heat to the plants), will this benefit the plant in any way?

Anytime you can get your plant more light, it does help. The cool thing about growing is you can try new things. Let us know the results

Possible risk of bringing something back into your room with plant , minor stress from moving it maybe?

Can't see change in light effecting it negatively , maybe ease her in though , gentle shade before full beam sun ?

Live and learn , these would be my thoughts if I was thinking to do it :)

Bad idea.

They will wilt and die.

Cant go from CFL's into scortching sunlight!

Leave them in the shade for the first few days. (The shade is about 100x the light your cfl's are giving.) Sunlight is about 1,000X the power of cfls.

Hey, even when you are taking vegetables outside from under floros you still have to temper the plants for a week in and out of the sun and shade and back inside, to get them used to the different environment. We always start our crops early in the basement and have to temper them for a solid week before they are used to the outdoors.

Does that mean that growing outdoor in shade is better than growing indoor with CFL's? Would I get more yield if I grew only in shade with little or no sun?

Some good answers above ^^^.

Whats the color of your current cfl light, lets say 6500K,

you take ur plants out to fall light thats mostly red at 2700K,

you gain perhaps 1-2 inches of vertical growth per week..temps depending

you also risk moving the plants to the busiest 'Bug Time' of the year

chance of infection imo 75% plus

and high chance of plants being seen and stolen ..? u decide

but hey I do it often and spray with 'cold pressed neem oil' if ever in doubt

good luck

I often tag-team sunlight and artificial light (CFL/LED/HPS)

Look at how these sun-guzzling whores bend over to suck up that sunlight....(they were under CFL when there was no direct sunshine)

They actually not too bad...they just eat the bottom leaves of my plants....they pests I can live with atleast...just keep a fan blowing on your plant and wherever there is wind they stay away.

That will wipe them out. Use as foliar and in waterings as systemic.

Don't do something half ass. If its worth doing, its worth doing right.

If you start them in the sun its fine. You grow them a few weeks under cfl and then throw them in the sun they will wilt and die. You have to harden a plant to the sun.

What is that????
Captian Jacks spinosad. It is a bacteria found only on one place on earth. An old rum distillery.

It is non toxic to humans. It works on any leaf eating pest.

I use it in my vegetable garden to. If you use it outside it is toxic to be for 30 min after spraying.
