Will this work!? (Bubbleponics)

Thanks for the link tom. I'm thinking my Idea will work well, after breaking it down and finding out what I need for the job, im gonna need a bit more tubing than I thought. Its basically gonna look like a grid of tubes in a pvc frame thats 16"x11" the radiator will sit in the bottom of the res with the bubble stones under it to help distribute the cool water molecules. It will take about 32' of tubing for each radiator. so after both radiators + the additional tubing to hook em up to the cooler system we're looking at about 70 ft of tubing! So I got a 100' ft roll for $9.90+ shipping. cant wait til it gets here!

Question for everyone, its seems like there is a lot of people out there that flower at 3 weeks, it almost sounds pretty standard. I am only going for 2 weeks flower but some will be at almost 3 weeks by then...my goal here is to produce 14 grams per plant dry wieght.. I just dont want these plants to overgrow the closet anymore than I know they already will.

Well, I ended up not waiting for my order and canceled it and bought my 100 ft roll of 1/4 inch tubing at the hydro store, man they always got what I need. I dropped in my radiators 1 hour ago, and the temp then was 96.4*, I am now at 95.0* so I have dropped 1.4* in the past hour, I have already lost alot of Ice but Its going down slow but steady, hopefully in the morning i'll be experiancing record lows! lol

Well here is my progress for 2 weeks, I'm pretty disappointed I was hoping for a plant twice this size but I've been battling res temps in upwards of 97* growth slowed to a stop until I built my radiators. I am still battling temps, I've built a cooling system and double wrapped both my tubs, I changed the water a couple days ago and filled them with 58.5* water and my water temps are still bouncing around in the 80's. I dont know what else to do, the only conclusion is that I just got too much going on in too small of a space. Anyway I'm pretty pissed about it but at least my plants are still alive I guess. heres the damn pics, oh and by the way I had to move my set up cuz I got family staying with me all of next week. also I will add that the last pic, those plants are about a week behind, I am switching to 12/12 jan. 1st... hopefullly temps will be lower for flowering.

Hey Volcom lookin good buddy. Im curious about your timeline. My seeds I soaked on Dec. 11 and had sprouts on Dec.14 so I am calling them two weeks tomorrow. Is that how you are judging the age as well? Also it seems awful early to be changing to flower in just a few more days how did you come up with your schedule. Please understand I am not trying to question you, I am just trying to gather as much information as I can as this is my first grow.

Oh and that radiator idea is absolutely ingenious. How is that working out and how cold are you keeping the water in the cooler? I am in the desert so I am expecting to have some heat problems on my next grow and might be interested in using a system like that

Thanks for the props on the radiators, what I do Its freeze water bottles solid and I can fit 4 of them in my cooler, but that really only covers me for about 4 hours after that the temps VERY SLOWLY start to go up I've been swappin Ice twice a day now for the past two days and temps have been staying around the low 80's with the pump going with the pump off its a difference of 7 degrees but I could just swap more ice If I wanted to drop them even more. I just dropped some fresh ice about 5 min ago cuz my res was at 86. It really all depends on how much ice you can swap into the cooler. I'm thinking If I had a bigger cooler I could put way more ice in it and have more cold water that would last longer. I have probably one gallon of water and 4 ice bottles, I can drop 7 degrees every hour if I swapped for fresh ice every 1-2 hours, but I just dont have the time for that. I dunno they seem to be helping none the less. I also insulated my tubs to help keep the water cooler longer. As for flowering well I would be flowering already but I wanted to veg for 2 weeks and some of them are almost a week behind others so yea. but the reason I am flowering so soon is because I dont have the space to grow big plants so I am growing more plants just smaller ones. This is a "sea of green" style grow, the objective here is to produce the same amount of bud in the space, but in a faster time. I could fit one large female in my closet that would produce around 6-8 oz. or have 16 small plants that would produce 14grams per plant, which would be the same amount of pot in the same space with a few weeks time shaved off. Only thing with this method is if you get busted, they look at how many plants you got and in most cases, the more plants you have the more trouble you face.

I hope I'm not repeating anything that has already been said but I kinda skimmed quickly through. I have a similar system.
The water temps used to be really high, I added more air stones, I don't have reflective tape or any of that shit. Sometimes the feeding tubes pop out and flood the top of the container, so I have a drain. One tip I will give you is to use black hose, in the long run you will have better luck, less algae if any, and less heat. Those tubes act as a green house for that water and it is heated up by your light. It is just like nature, fast moving streams are cool, ponds are warm. Add more air to the water maybe make it move faster by getting a bigger pump.

That seems like a great idea with the water bottles but sounds like a lot of work. I just thought of something else, also seemed like the more nitrogen was is the water the warmer it was. all this stopped when I added more air, another thing I do add Hydrogen peroxide to the water 2 tsp/gal almost every other day, it is a sanitizer and is good for washing out the basin too. Try lowering you water level so the water has farther to fall, the farther it falls the more tome it has to cool. That would be easier than cutting a hole in your wall and all this other shit. But I don't really know I made this system for about $60 and I have only pulled about 4 pounds off so far.

hey thanks for that, no it hasn't been mentioned that I know of. I do use all black tubing and yea I'm down to just droppin ice in the morning and then again when i get off work so it works out and i've been keep the temps in the low to mid 80s on average, not ideal... but I did already buy two more 10inch airstones I just need to go pick up a few line splitters. i dont have a problem with my feeder tubes anymore cuz i got those turn down drip ends that keep everything right in place. =) not to change the subject but do you have 8 or nine per res in your set up? and also it looks like you need to bring your light down a lot, thier lookin a bit stretchy..

I have 8 in this one, and two more with 15. thanks I will try lowering the light, but I do have some strong sativas in the front in the tub on the right, and they are lanky no matter what, I recently pulled some clones off them and the nodes are a respectable 1/2" apart. I grow in soil and hydro, these plants seem to grow about twice as fast as the same plants in soil, also I really never move the light, this forms a canopy, and they just bush out. all of the branches are relatively the same height at the end.

how come u didnt put the feeder tubes n the rez like the original bubbleponics and use 10 gallon totes? its designed this way for a reason..

well if I got 10 gallon totes I would have less water per plant and since they hold 8 plants per res thats the reason for the bigger size. Plus not to mention the more water your working with the less things fluctuate, temp,ph etc... and could you tell me the benefit to having the feeder tubes on the inside?

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure. I just threw them into 12/12 on the 1st.

yo redirasta, Sweet pictures. Is that your current grow? Sweet Jesus, ya got a grow thread on it? Nice bro

vr, is that a drip ring system tied into a submergible pump? just never saw that kind of rig.

yea it is a drip system, each line has its own regulator to control the drip flow.

well this is what I got after one week of flowering, 7 females out of 11 total. well actually 3 of them I cant quite tell exactly yet but i'm guessing and hoping they will be females considering males generally always show sex first. so anyway I also am conducting a little experiment with cloning at 12/12. I'm doing it with male plants just for shits, to see what happens. also I am getting ready to order some seeds to start up a few mothers so i'll keep you posted there as well.

well after a week no roots even developed from my clone experiment, i'm guessing that my rooting horomone is no good after being in storage outside for a few months over the winter... so i chucked em cuz i'm down to one res now anyway... I am left with 6 females.. 2 in particular have been bent down because they are getting too tall and my lights really cant go up much more with out rearranging everything. they look pretty decent I think... I with they wouldnt have streched so much but I need to get a bit more light in there, that is in the works... things are getting stinky but this ONA pro gel is working just fine for now, if things get to be too much I can just flip on the ozone jr..

4 weeks flowering; I dont really wanna rearrange things too much but I'm afraid I might have to if they continue to grow any taller...other than that things are well and I'm working on a project for some mother plants and taking clones and flowering soon as roots appear with the clones...hoping to have a bit more of an efficient system with less wait time...I'll keep you posted

two of the plants have gotten too tall and instead of moving the the light further away from some just satisfy others I decided to knock down the two tall ones. they have kinks in the stems now but it didnt crack or break the stem so they are just fine. I've done this before and they just keep growing as if nothing ever happened. I planned on having some 2700K bulbs to add to this lighting but have not had sufficient funds for the project. Those funds have been moved to a new project....I'll probably finish these out with the light that I have..
